Way I see it, its any fighters prerogative to say what they want when asked questions like this... whether the answer is true or not. Who cares. We all saw the fight. We can draw our own conclusions/opinions as to who was toughest.

To me, this is no different to GSP saying Fitch was his toughest fight, even though everybody knows the first Penn fight was. Just like Sonnen, Penn talked 2 tons of shite about GSP beforehand. Damn right hes not going to give him kudos.

We all know Sonnen was Silvas toughest fight. I dont care how cool Silvas "god" is, or how much faith hes got. Right before that submission, he thought he was going to lose. So did his corner. So did all his fans. We can talk about whether he means physical or mental toughness. Whatever. Its mentally tough when you've been punched in the face more times than the rest of your career and are 2 minutes away from losing your belt and status. Thats tough. Not going into a championship fight with Franklin only to realize within the first minute that this guy is easy prey for you.

Let Silva say what he wants. He deserves it. After all, as a fighter, he is beautiful when in full flow. He can say anything and I will still love him. By the same token, we can say whatever the feck we want about them. What a tangled web we weave...

So Please keep your mouth shut and stop telling us what you think his answer should be. The sonnen fight may have been the most physically demanding fight of his career but mentally the Franklin fight may have been harder....and a lot of athletes acknowledge the toughest part of any competition is the mental game.

Its one thing to doubt Silva's sincerity but its another thing to blatantly accuse him of BS'ing just because he has a different opinion or because he's not paying lip service to your hero Chael Sonnen.
I concur with this 110%

People do like to talk about what others feel as if they have a away of knowing it for sure. Itīs called speculation, folks! You donīt get to talk with certainty about what you canīt be certain of.

P.S. - Someone take the smell of tuna out of Vilify please!

McCall, Faber, Aldo, Nate, Nick, Lyoto, TBD, Hunt
Forever hanging in Anderson Silva nuts

This is true and also why I hate A.Silva. Maybe he was talking about the rematch and the overall preparation and everything invlolved but I think he is just not willing to admit Sonnen handeled his ass for 5 rounds.

it would be like Chuck saying Tito was his toughest fight....

or Tito saying Shamrock was.....

i mean lol wtf, your ego wont allow you to say your toughest fight might be one where you lost, or got your ass kicked for 22 min??

nope, it was that time i easily dismantled a guy i respect, tough, tough times.

Chael is tongue and cheek with most of what he says.

Andersons arrogance is just him being himself.

silva has 4 losses on his record, any one of those could be listed ahead of sonnen as his toughest fight.. I think he's talking about the over all circumstance of the fight being tought and not the physical fight itself.

if he was undefeated then sonnen would've been his hardest but as things stand if u're talking about being pushed sonnen only ranks 5th as his hardest fight

fighters I like
145 Jose Aldo
155 Melvin Guillard
170 Carlos Condit
185 Anderson Silva
205 Jon Jones/Machida
265 Alistair Overeem/Frank Mir

Alright lets claeify what touhest fight means, some thing its the one where u got ur ass kick the most. I on the other hand think its the one what means the most and takes the most out of ie prepartion. What is fedor's toughest fight? The one he lost to wedum, the one where he got rocked by Fujuita, his war with the champ big nog,?
