not a stretch to think of Myriad of fighters could have beaten Herring and then Couture.

Nog, Werdum, Ricco, Monson, Cain, JDS, Carwin, Rothwell, and a bunch of other guys i think would have a shot but not as good.

Mir and Carwin are good wins over ranked opponents and i acknowledge Brocks skills personally i just feel he is about to run into the freight train of the entire division, hell of the entire sport.

I see big, big things in Cains future. He has been in MMA for what, 3 years now and already showing us this??

Im pretty sure i know what Brock is gonna bring to the table on the 23rd.

Even as an admitted Cain fan, i have no idea what his gameplan will be or what kind of new skills/techniques he will display at 100mph but im excited at the prospect.

Either way, enjoy "Brocktober", it may end sooner than expected

Brocktober is no different a marketing tool than DREAM showing Aoki, Sakuraba and Minowaman in all their opening vids. Business is business folks.
As for Brock, I have yet to see anything from him to wow me. People tend to blow his skills way out of proporsion. NCAA champ? Thats fine and dandy but the man has never wrestled outside the US. Hendo, Coture and Mo have but nobody brings that up hardly. Another thing that irriate me is people saying he will win because of his size. Bobb Sapp is bigger but just not as good of a fighter. He got destroyed by Soko and Minoawman. Size is good but not everything. Lesnar cardio hasnt been tested for 15 minutes. Dont use the Herring fight as an example since Brock could have finished that fight anytime he wanted. He just wanted to show he can last 15 minutes. Think about it. If you were in a fight you had complete control of and you dont end it, your not really trying. Therefore, Brock wasnt really having his cardio tested. I'll give him some credit for his Coture fight, but TKOing Randy isn't all that difficult.
After UFC 119, his win over Mir doesnt really mean much anymore. Mir only creditable top 10 win was over Sylvia. He tko's Nog who had Staph 2 weeks prior to the fight. If anything I was more impressed with Nog for showing how much heart he had. The Carwin fight only showed 4 things, Brock can take a punch (sorta),Lesnar boxing is still nonexistant, Carwin has cardio for about 4 minutes, and Brock take Carwin only when Carwin is tired. People are giving Brock WAY too much credit. Still to this day, I still think going 1-1 in a org and getting a title shot is bullshit and drops the credibility of that world title by a ton. I mean hell, Bellator might as well give Joe Warren a month dedicated to him since both his carrer and Brock is almost similar.

That's ingenious! And they could cover both January and February!

To be honest that whole Brocktober thing sounds too corny to me. Sounds like someone made fun of the Primetime special by calling it that. Sounds like the guy who came up with it was high and drunk at the same time so he thought it would be a great name. Also the guy who accepted the name had drunk ten cans of Red Bull and licked the back of seven toads.

I usually enjoy your posts and often agree. I too hated seeing Brock come to the ufc but, he has more than proved himself. RANDY COUTURE is "gift wrapping" for no man.

That's ridiculous. Roy wouldn't make an adequate sparring partner for Randy.

Carwin (D2 national wrestling champ) a one dimensional puncher?

My friend you are blinded by hate.

Brocktober is just the UFC being marketing genius' and knowing the writing is on the wall and milking Brocks popularity for all it is worth and at the same time, giving Cain alot of spotlight for when his title reign starts.

The UFC is always thinking ahead. Gotta make Cain the biggest meal ticket they can. He has a great chance of winning and Dana and Co. know it very well, they have their ears to the community.
This is what I was going to say.

Just as much as it is about Brock it is just as much about Cain and giving him a platform to be seen by many.

If they do all this promoting of Brock and he ends up loosing to Cain I'm going to laugh. Granted the UFC doesn't totally depend on Brock, they are still going to do alot of promoting of him over the next month. That being said I actually want Cain to win as I'm into the whole underdog angle!
