Imagine a Ufc fighter in a ring with pride rules

who do u believe would be the more successful with no experience under pride rules.

Imo gsp in side crontrol pounding is right Knee into ur face for 10 min straight will be very successful against any fighter.

i think in general it would be very difficult for them to do just as well as they do here, simply because fighting in a ring makes it much harder to take guys down, in the UFC the cage really helps the TD...but in the ring a TD is more based on skill than knowing how to use the cage

a ring demands a more technical fight and while i still think most elite fighters would do just as well, some of the lower tier guys would really have a tough time because even though they are really strong their technique isnt really that good and the ring would just make it a lot more difficult, especially for GnP since you can still pull out a sub close to the ropse, is easier for bjj guys in the ring, the cage really affects their bjj game

the reason im saying this is because most of the UFC guys are wrestlers or have ok striking but like to GnP...

in other words, tough to say, elite fighters yes, they would do well either way, thats why they are elite, but fighters in general? would have a tough time since your technique becomes a lot more important than sheer strength and good wrestling

Some fighters that I imagine would do quite well:

Nog(s)
Silva(s)
Shogun
Rampage
Cro-cop

Brock Lesnar
GSP

Both can take you down in the center of the ring, and if they have you down, your staying down for the entire round.

LOL no UFC HW would get into a pride Ring because Fedor would be waiting to stomp on their heads.

They need the unified rules.

Nope. The unified rules need to unify some of pride rules.
Knees on the ground and kicks to down opponents FTW

McCall, Faber, Aldo, Nate, Nick, Lyoto, TBD, Hunt

Knee's on the ground would be awesome, take out elbows.. Never add kicks there blahh.

Anyway GSP would do well i think... Imagine what he did to Serra but instead of body, the head.

Yeah, I was wondering why GSP doesn't do that kind've stuff more often. It's perfectly legal and you can get alot of damage done to the body. But I'm not sure adding knees to the ground would help out any more then albows to the ground!
