UFC Dedicated to Cro Cop?

Cro Cop is arguably the most talented fighter in the history of the UFC--and Dana just spent big money to get him. My question is this- if Cro Cop takes Tim's belt and dominates the HW division as most of us expect, will Dana shell out even bigger bucks to keep him, or even better, will he almost force him to stay by signing Fedor? After all, as more people learn about MMA and become aware of others organizations, it would look really bad if he were to come into the UFC, take the belt, and then head back to Pride to fight Fedor.

i would imagine that its dana's goal to not only keep crocop but to sign fedor away from pride as well.

that being said, its easier said than done. pride cant lost fedor. he's the best fighter in the world if not ever. dana will probably focus on simply keeping crocop and developing new talent. the crocop vs fedor rematch will have to take care of itself somehow.

i dont think this is gonna be an easy one for dana to solve.

it would be hilarious on my end if when Cro-cop beats Tim he says "Well, back to Pride", or when he finishes his contract

CroCop will, eventually, want a rematch against Fedor. Probably Mark Hunt, too, but definitely Fedor. Eventually, I think that money will stop mattering if he can't get that competition in the UFC.

The way that the UFC is growing they will eventually be able to afford Fedor too, but PRIDE is growing also, and so they might be able to keep Fedor. Honestly, I don't think Fedor cares as much about money as he does about the level of competition. I may be wrong, but he's probably aware that the level of competition for heavyweights is much higher in PRIDE than the UFC. After all, Fedor still has to fight Barnett.

If Fedor signs with the UFC it will be a huge deal and will probably be the largest contract ever in the sport. It'll make Liddell's contract look like chicken sh*t, and it should.

Bar that kind of spending from Dana White, I don't see Fedor coming over to the UFC any time soon.

It's a little bit easier for me to see CroCop win the Heavyweight title and go back to PRIDE for better competition.

UFC likely will do whatever it takes to keep CroCop. I think your all a little to focused on the negative though.

Think about how far the UFC has come in the last year to 2 years. Who's to say it wont even grow stronger than it has over the next year or 2.

You guys are focusing on the negative of what if Crocop leaves after dominating. When you could be focusing on what CroCop will do to make the UFC Stronger and he might attrack even more ELITE Fighters like himself.

Who's to say WAndy or someone like him wouldnt jump ship from PRIDE and come here. Also you never know how long FEDOR will continue to fight. You never know in a year or 2 the man might decide to retire. There may not be that fight to go back too. Or even then maybe FEDOR might decide to fight on the UFC just to prove him domiance, then retire, Even with no title on the line. (like Gracie did vs Hughes).

CroCop will IMO add alot more postives over the next year or 2 than he possibly could take away by leaving someday down the road.

I know I rambled alot there, but I was trying to get my "what if" positive thoughts out there.

excellent. i agree completely, repped! a 6 fight deal for cro cop is 1.5-2 years. and in that amount of time the ufc will be HUGE and have a LOT more fighters in every category. i cant wait!

I really think that for a lot of these guys it's all about the money, they go where the money is. If Dana really wants Fedor, I'm sure there is a price that would make Fedor drop that pride belt without looking back.

If Cro Cop was really so concerned about getting a rematch with fedor, he would have stayed in pride right? No he went to the highest bidder, which happened to be UFC.

Don't fool yourself about what the fighters really want, big fat contracts, sure belts are cool and shiny and everything, but you can only fight for about ten to fifteen years out of your life, and they want some income to take care of them and their families when they retire.

Cro-Cop showed his true colors when he threatened not to show up if Pride didn't agree to pay him more during Prides Open Weight Tournament. He will do the same to the UFC.

I can't wait for Sylvia to beat Cro-Cops head into a bloody stump. I suppose then everyone will say that CC was overrated.
