Freak Fights?

I like the freak fights that Pride has. I would love to see the UFC add one per PPV. Would anybody else like to see these types of matchups? If so, which ones?

I would like to see Bob Sapp vs. Butterbean.

If you would not like the UFC to have freak fights, tell me why you feel that way.

they wont be able to aquire too many "freaks" as they have a cap on weight. sapp = too heavy

Top 5 fav. fighters (in order)

1. GSP
2. Franklin
3. Lesnar
4. Forrest
5. Big Nog

i dont really wanna see it. personally, i think its more of a side show. the freak fights are usually bigger guys and they become glorified boxing mathces. i like to know that if someone is getting beat in the stand up he can always try and take it to the ground and change the momentum. and with these kind of fights i'm not sure that can really happen. i'd watch, but i'd rather it just stay where it is.

I enjoy them a fair bit. I would never call them freaks though. I especially like it when you have a 'freak' against a legit fighter. Say Ray Sefo vs. Bob Sapp.

I"m not sure if Freak is the right word in my mind,but if you use some of the examples that PRIDE or other companies were considering..Like Mike Tyson or WWE Wrestlers(promoted as WWE Wrestlers),I'm totally against that.

It works in Japan,but in the states all that will do is create a circus side show and make MMA look either "fake" or a "non-sport". Sure the fights can be fun to watch I suppose,but its bad for MMA in America. Maybe 10 years from now when MMA is truly past his dark history and is considered a legmimate sport in all sectors of the American Sports World.

your telling me if in America they throw mike tyson up against some new just average MMA fighter it won't be the highest grossing PPV and most popular event ever for UFC? And it wno't be seen as a joke b/c once somenoe gets knocked out its no longer fake

I've always said that be a fun watch, but let Pride do it, they can pull it off. Pride does all kinds of enertainment style-matchups that are odd-ball. While odd they are mildy entertaing. It would be weird to see it in the UFC though. They would try to talk them up all legit and it just wouldn't seem right to me. I dunno just my opinion
