Dana Starts The Beef With PRIDE
i read this dana quote in ufc mania its sound great .but i think maybe dana is telling us what we want to hear
“There’s only one way to find out [who the true champions are], and that’s to have them all fight. I’ve been trying to make that [UFC vs. PRIDE] happen for years. I sent Chuck Liddell over (to Pride FC) three times, trying to get them over here, and they won’t cooperate with us. So now, we’re just going to have to take all of their guys and find out for ourselves.”

I think he's talking literally. I believe he will be able to pick apart pride and win over some of their best fighters. The money and power is no joke anymore.

Yes, Dana has done this before, but I do think he is totally serious about making an event happen including both organizations. I remember reading a transcript of a discussion between Dana and one of the Big dogs at Pride and Dana called them right out saying the reason there havn't been more fights between pride and UFC fighters was because Pride couldn't get their act together. I am not saying I believe the blame falls solely on Pride's shoulders, I think it has alot to do with Dana and the UFC wanting it to be on their terms. One thing is for sure, I don't doubt for a second that Dana IS serious about taking all their best fighters and making it happen solely under the UFC banner.

dana white is a very aggresive businessman, and i dont doubt he will do his best to get the best fighters over here. it will take time, but unless pride starts making their fighters and organization more marketable to north american viewers (more easy to see in bars and what not) ufc will eventually have enough financial backing to get teh best fighters over here.
The more money ufc makes, the more good fighters they can get over here, and the less money other organizations will make, which will lead to more money in ufc, more fighters, so on so forth.

its all about money. the ufc is simply outdoing pride financially. thats not to say the ufc is better than pride, it is just doing better economically as a business. this gives dana the ability to win fighters over and get them to join the ufc.
i definitely see this as a possibility in the future.

There was a time when that was a bunch of hot air, but not anymore. Dana is generating the kind of money to sink other MMA organizations. Not only that, but I've been hearing talk that Pride is having financial troubles and what not. Well, I'd love to see Pride continue to succeed, but when you start shelling out the big bucks, hey, these fighters aren't fighting for the heck of it. They're making a living.

If Dana brings all the Pride fighters over here to fight under the UFC banner is it still UFC vs. Pride, because they would all be UFC fighters. Also, fighting Pride fighters under the UFC rules or UFC fighters under Prides rules, changes a lot about the fighters styles. Just the ring vs. cage argument would make huge diffrence, and there are a lot more diffrences.
All this talk about money kinda of scares me. Let me clarify, money is good for the sport and good for the UFC, but the thats how boxing got in trouble too. Hopefully they learn from boxings mistakes.
