Its definitely a "win-win" fight. Brock is probably the most popular figure in MMA so if he wins he'll only increase his popularity, and Cain Velasquez is a pretty respectful guy, great work ethic, and lot of "insiders" think he's legit and the next champ, thus appeasing the anti-Brock crowd, which is also fairly large.

Personally I still see Brock winning it, especially with how well his jitz game is improving, I see him having very little problem getting Cain down, and getting an arm/leg and making Cain tap. Brocks wrestling/size/strength is unmatched at HW, and if he adds a legit submission game to that arsenal he'll be nearly unbeatable, and I'm pretty sure his camp knows that, and I think Brock really started to appreciate that aspect of fighting now more than ever.

As for Dana White and Frank Shamrock... lol... its just sad that both guys act like Pepsi/Coke and refuse to admit to anything good about the other. MMA as a whole needs as much awesome fighting taking place as possible, the sport needs to continue to grow and both Strikeforce and the UFC are big contributors to doing so. It doesnt have to be so cut-throat, both should be seeing it from the perspective that they're both creating new fans, and helping the sport grow, its NOT on NFL/MLB/NBA/Soccer levels yet, so it still needs all the fans it can get, and BOTH of them are helping grow the sport.

They need to act more like men, and less like kids.

Dana is pissed guys like Frank and BJ left for Japan because the could make 5-10x the money at the time. According to BJ he gave him the finger and told them to get the f--- out and he can never come back into the UFC, even though BJ said he'd be willing to take less to fight in the UFC, but wanted a more competitive offer. HAHAHA...see how that turned out.

Nothing ever will. I love Frank Shamrock but he is a weird guy and neither Dana nor Frank will ever bury the issue. It's really a shame because Frank is one of the greatest in the history of the sport and should be involved with the UFC or at least in the HoF which he never will be.

Dana has problems with Frank because of the way he left the UFC and Frank has issues with Dana because he sees Dana as the the face of MMA and he's a promoter. Frank hates the way Dana does things and wants MMA for the fighters and he doesn't think Dana has any pride of respect for actual martial arts.

^^
I'm not agreeing with either guy, just from what I know and have seen with this situation that seems to be the core of the issue.

SideWays222;1287564 How so?? I never saw Dana and Ken have problems until around the time the UFC pre maturely retired Ken lol. They even inducted him in the HOF in like 2002 or 2003 i dont remember. He was also one of their biggest draws in the important days and had one of the most important fights with Ortiz. I find it surprising if Dana white had beef with Ken... only thing i can think off is when Ken went back to Japan to fight BUT i dont know any details on that so i cant comment on it. I never felt any tension between Ken and Dana atleast not before nearing the end of Kens UFC career.[/QUOTE said:
Well according to Ken ( who I belive more than Dana or frNk for multiple reasons) it all happened at his release. He said Dana realy treated him like crap. It was at the premature departure but before the legal actions. Ken also said that even today anytime he trys to mend things with Dana he gets cut off.

Definitely not win-win for the UFC. They want their monstrous HW champ, who is their biggest draw, to defend his title. Do they really want Brock to be 'the baddest man on the planet' for as long as the Machida era lasted?
