The UFC might have been building Herring up, but anyone who's in the know, knows that Herring isn't half what they say he is, and is mediocre at best in the HW division in Pride. Watch the Mirko Vs Herring fight and see how easily Mirko pushed him around, beat him standing and on the ground, it just shows he's not that great. I understand you're not making making anything more than an observation here, and I'm not trying to come back at you or anything but you can quote me on this; there is absolutly no chance whatsoever, that Mirko will lose to Eddie Sanchez.

He has a chance, but... a small one. Mirko isnt gonna just drop his hands like he did with Randleman... He will have to earn it

I'm with ya. No one in their right mind could possibly believe Sanchez will win this fight. His own trainers probably really don't think it will happen. But Lauzon knocked "lil evil" out and had about the same odds to win. I like upsets when they are basically a garunteed loser. This would be the greatest MMA upset ever. Everyone who isn't a serious crocop fan should be rooting for sanchez. It would be awesome.

It's Only Natural

For any fighter to be confident going into a fight. Although I'm sure Eddie Sanchez knows he is a little in over his head. But he's got some big balls, I'll give him credit for that. I would give Eddie probably about a 1 in 20 chance of winning. Quite simply it can happen, but Mirko is a man on a mission I believe. He wants a title bad, you can tell by his words about Tim Sylvia, and how much he respects each and every champion.

I guarantee he longs for that sort of respect, watch out UFC heavyweight division.

Sanchez gets my respect for steping in the octagon w/ Mirko, I hope he doesn't get permanently damaged in this. The disparity in talent and experience is really obvious, if UFC 67 is set in California, this match-up might not get approved (like Vernon White's in IFL). Mirko might just make an example out of him. Hopefully soon, they'll announce CC vs Sylvia...now that's a raping I won't miss!

You can't bash a fighter for feeling confident - all these UFC guys are athletes, they aren't going to say - 'Well, I'm gonna lose hard.'

In a sport where people punch each other with 4oz gloves, kick each other with no foot protenction, and work a ground-game you can't count anyone out.

There is a big difference between the Lauzon/Pulvar, Heath/Obrian and the now Cro/Sanchez fights. Cro Cop is coming off the best year of his MMA career. His is hot shit right now. He isn't going to choke. Honestly, UFC rules don't suit Herring, and he didn't deserve to win that night, and Pulvar has just lost his touch when he went to Japan.
