Ways of cutting weight?

A lot of people are pissed right now because Travis Lutter pulled a Joe Riggs on us. Lot of people are calling Lutter a d*ckhead and a lazy MotherF'er who can't lay off the burgers.

Let's think this through rationally! Obviously this happened to Travis Lutter before. Night before he was suppose to fight Patrick Cote, he failed to make weight. He was obviously trying though because he looked like sh*t from dyhdrating himself. Obviously, that sauna does not work for him to well! I think this is a case of Travis Lutter's body not being built like other fighters. There are some fighters who can lose 20 pds in one day and not have any problems. Then thier are others who just have a bear of a time trying to cut thier weight and doesn't work out for them. People's bodies just seem to work differently. What are your thoughts? What more could Travis Lutter have done to lose this weight if Suana wasn't working?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

complete BS!!!

Every human on earth is built the same way. We are made of water.... To DROP or CUT weight you need to lose some WATER.
SWEAT

SWEAT

SWEAT

Bottom line, go running in your plastic suit, sauna, bike, whatever it takes. Sweat your ass off for 6 hours and you can easily drop 20lbs.

He needed to start cutting earlier and maintain a lighter weight for a month, maintain a healthy diet and cut some more until there was only a few pounds left 2 to 3 weeks prior to the match, the last 2 to 3 weeks he needed to eat very low-fat and low calorie foods while drinking more fluids, this is how many bodybuilders do it for competitions so that they do not lose mass but lose fat and water weight. In conclusion he needed to hire a dietician or a great personal trainer.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

i dont think he needs to start cutting earlier. once you run out of waterweight to lose...you're not gonna lose it anymore. the problem is his living weight. when not fighting he is obviously living at a weight too high. its so high that he cant physically cut enough weight to make it to 185. if he's living at 200 he needs to keep a better eye on it and live around 195 making it easier to cut the weight.

get a couple trash bags, cut holes in them to put your neck, arms, and legs through. Wear them tight on the skin, put on a sweat suit over top of that, then put on a heavy winter jacket/pant suit on top of that. go into the sauna and jump rope or run miles in the hottest room possible.

If you do that for 2 hours and don't lose 2 lbs, you are inhuman

For two pounds, if nothing was working and the clock was ticking for a TITLE FIGHT fight?

He should have cut off his left hand. You can still submitt a guy with a bloody stump, right??

There was a lot riding on this for Lutter. To think that titleshots (w/c may equate to better $$$$) don't come too often, and people even plea/beg (GSP, Franca) for it. He's not even top tier MW, he got in through the TUF4 backdoor, and he just blew it!!! Simply, he blew it!!! I feel bad for him and his family.

The scale caught him via Triangle Choke!
