right, its three years from now - how does the ufc look?

right... im going to mark this mark this thread so i remember to bring it up again in the future...

what do you think the landscape of the ufc will look like, which up and comers will mount to be nothing more thana hype job, which will become champions, who will have fallen from grace and become the new liddell (sorry that was awful)

im figuring GSP will still be WW champion if he doesnt step up to MW.
Jon jones will have shown absolute domination in the LHW division and is considering moving up to HW to challenge Cain Velasquez for the HW championship - who incidently has lost in once already in a battle either against JDS or OVEREEEM << yes you read it right!
I also believe brock lesnar will show hes not all hype by smashing everyone in front of him that isnt called Cain or Carwin

I'll leave it there so the original post doesnt put people commenting thanks to its length!

away - put your ten pence worth in!

It's hard to predict three years in advance. Sometimes the sport seems to move slowly, while other times I'm blown away by all the new faces. I think guys in three years we'll have seen the last remnants of Pride leave the sport. I think Shogun, Rampage, Wanderlei, Crocop and the Nogs will all be done in a few years.

I think we'll see an abundance of the grinder style of fighter and I think we'll miss the talent and personality some of the Japanese shows produced.

HW - Gonna have to go with Cain having the belt but I think JDS has a good shot at getting the belt as well. Maybe by this time there will have been a trilogy between the two . I like to think we might see Overeem in the UFC by then but I dunno if I see him beating either at the moment.
LHW - All 'Bones'
MW - This is probably one of the tougher guesses. Gonna have to go with The Spider because he's never steered me wrong but three years is a long time and we've already caught him slipping a couple times recently.
WW - A Mad Max wasteland ruled over by GSP.
LW - I really have no idea. BJ will probably be in title contention but hopefully (for his sake) someone has defeated Frankie by that time.

Sadly, I kind of have to agree. I wouldn't call them done but most will be pretty far from title contention with the exception of maybe Shogun.

1) GSP will still be a champion at either WW or MW
2) There will be a new young talent that no one really knows yet that the UFC will sign and will be an extremely great fighter
3) A major sports broadcasting channel will get rights (SportsNet, The Score, ESPN ect...) along with Spike TV
4) MMA will be legal in NY
5) The Ultimate Fighter will become slightly more legit rathen then stupid.
6) Cain Velasquez will lose his belt but will get it back.

It's hard to say.

The Fertittas are old school gangsters who are used to looting the businesses they run for all the cash, loans, coke and whores they can cram into a day's time.

Their casinos are heavily leveraged with debt, and they've already bankrupted xyience, and shafted their own fighters in the process.

Dana continues to coke, whore and pimp out his fighters to a blood thirsty audience.

I see the UFC remaining a highly profitable sideshow which never quite reaches mainstream legitimacy; it is built on an ethical and financial quicksand.

In three years time the UFC will have bought Strikeforce and have cards in Japan since DREAM is no more and no other organization steps up.

Rookie Hammer Squad 2015
Frankie Edgar - Dominick Cruz - Jorge Masvidal - Cat Zingano - Holly Holm
