No, i think Fitch is a better opponent for Penn.

1. Both Fitch and Shields would go for the takedown and proberly get it.
- If not Fitch would at least be able to try to strike(avoiding another Maia vs. Silva type og fight).

2. Both Fitch and Shields are grinders, but Shields has more grappeling experience and would probarly neutralise BJ's JJ.
While Fich will be put more to the test.

I train grappeling and love the grappeling aspect of mma, but i agree its boring when a guy wins just because he's on top. But "Hate the game not the player". I think that if Top/Bottom possision and takedowns didn't count on the scorecards you would get more exiting fights.

shields would probably hug the shit out of penn, i mean this guy has a meaner hug than that 300lbs mongoloid chick that lives down the street.

Thirdly Jake's submissions are usually chokes and Rear naked ones , so what im saying is he needs to be on top to get a submission usually he doesn't throw triangles up , he has one or two arm bars and a guillotine but GSP is not going to make mistakes like that now he is too well rounded.

Finally if you watch GSP he uses a wrestling shoot to get you down and then once on top used his JJ to keep top control so a submission from Jake off the bottom is the least likely out come.
Ok, I get you, your quote was more specific for this fight than broad.

Exactly. Shields is a wrestler with dominant top JJ. His biggest chance of victory is being on top or getting a submission in a scramble.
