Thiago Silva, on his fight against Vera: "Someone will be knocked out"

Quote:
"I think it’ll be a great fight for me because he’s a striker, he’s much talented, but I can also exchange and I think this fight must be a pretty good one when it comes to trade of punches… Someone will be knocked out, you can bet on it", comments Thiago, who has been doing his sparrings with Katel Kubis at ATT, and celebrates his back recovery. "I was off the rings for a long time and I couldn’t fight, but I’m back, healthy, training hard… My back is fine and the expectations are the best".

"The mental state is the usual: I get there thinking about the win. A fight is a fight. I can be well trained, but sometimes there’s the luck factor, but it’s like I always say: I have to be aware of my game, keep my focus and try to find the easiest way for the victory”, said the fighter, wanting to belong to the top 10 again. “I hope I’ll fight the best, but unfortunately it’s not up to me to decide it, it’s up to UFC. I have to do my job, show I’m ready so I can have my shot".
Also:
With only two losses on his career, Thiago knows that a rematch with Rashad may be far from happening, once the American is on the line for the title shot, but the Brazilian don’t forget the bad result on the fight against Lyoto Machida.
Quote:
"Who knows. Everybody wants to revenge their losses. I have two loses, but it’s like I’ve told you: I can't pick my opponents. I’m in their hands, I’m their employee, but I want to fight. If they give me the chance, of course I’ll accept it", said Thiago.
Thiago revealed that he was surprised with the result of the duel between Lyoto and Rampage Jackson, which ended with an American win.
Quote:
"The bout between Lyoto and Rampage really got me by surprise. Lyoto has his game of not being so offensive and waiting for counterattacking… It’s hard to judge, it was a pacific fight, we can say… I thought that Lyoto has won the final round, but Rampage looked for him more times, and that also counts. I don’t know, honestly I’d rather not to give an opinion about it"
said Thiago.

I'm taking Thiago in this one, unlike Vera he still has a killer instinct and his last loss came as a result of an injured back and a bad matchup of styles. He ended up fighting a guy who very clearly didn't want to fight, but rather wrestle.

Thiago by violent KO.

Vera is just a sad tale, something happened along the way with him and he's just lost the ability to pull a trigger, not to mention I can't ever remember him fighting a guy with the power Thiago has, at 205 atleast. Add to the fact he's coming off one of the most horrofying knockout losses in recent memory, Thiago will win easily here.

Always rooting for: Bisping, Shogun, Jon Jones, Daley, Hardy, Sonnen, Fedor, Couture, Jacare.

I hope Vera gets his other eye socket mangled, then promptly gets cut from the UFC. He just doesn't look like he has the will to fight anymore.

Thaigo by brutal KO. Vera sucks and I can't believe the amount of arrogance that fool has in him.
