He was trying to hold Lutters shoulders so he couldnt hit with as much power. And Lutter's tired, fat, dehydated ass got bucked off. It wouldnt have happened to most other fighters. I'm saying it right here Anderson will lose his next match.

I belive that Jason MacDoanald's ground game would have finshed Silva off. Silva held his own ,but was not really impressive. Lutter is/was a b level fighter. I bet silva will relaize that the holes in his game were exposed...he will be ready for the next fight.

Fighters I enjoy watching:
Fedor
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
Martin Kampman
Jake Shields
Thiago Tavares
Urijah Faber

Joe Rogan NutHugger...and proud of it

doubt it. I always thought his sprawl was suspect. You need powerful hamstrings and back for a good sprawl. Something Anderson just doesent have. He doesent have good form either. Just wait. Anderson loses his next fight.

Wow what happened to this forum?

The reason Lutter lasted longer than Rich Franklin should be pretty obvious. Because he took the fight to the ground, where Anderson couldn't destroy him (A la standing.) Meanwhile he still lost ON THE GROUND. World class BJJ blah blah blah... you guys got what you wanted, Lutter giving Silva a fight.

You guys are going to have to accept that Silva is the real deal. Maybe he got pounded on a little bit because Lutter's that good on the ground. Maybe not. Maybe he got pounded on because shit that's what happens when another guy is on top of you, you gotta eat some. His takedown defense isn't a huge weakness. He'll fix that up, he was probably a bit nervous. It's hard to react in a fight when you KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN and that may sound weird, but because you're waiting so much, you pyshc yourself out a little bit. Silva didn't get where he did in the other organizations and to the UFC with "the worst takedown defense ever"

Let's not forget Leben shot in at him and he just threw his ass across the ring. Silva isn't losing his next fight who do you think they are even going to through at him? Rich? JASON MACDONALD!?

yha maby anderson just needed to be put on his back befor he woke up and now he'll work on his defence but I bet he wasnt reall to consered about it because he figured his standup was so good he would ko him fast.
he did a good job with the triangle regardless.

I was amazed Silva looked as bad as he did after such impressive wins
ya but i read that lutter went to a all you can eat shrimp place and it didnt look like anderson was trying as much in the 1st as much as the 2nd.

Well, I think anyone can see Silva's takedown defense isn't that hot, but his ground skills make up for it. Basically, if you stand with him you're dead, so you better have an amazing ground game. Even then, the Spider proved he is dangerous so go ahead, take him down and see what happens.

I think Silva's takedown defense is hindered by the fact that he tries to have his whole arsenal (Fists, elbows, knees, and feet) available at all times for his amazing standup. Unlike Liddell who can count on his hand power and spread his legs out, Silva wants all his limbs ready. That makes him easier to take to the ground, but you know, he just proved that even on the ground he's extremely dangerous.

I was super impressed with Silva. I was always hesitant to jump on his band wagon because I thought his ground skills were suspect, but when you submit Travis Lutter you prove you're bad ass on the ground.

You keep saying that over and over...and because you have that Rich Franklin avatar it makes me think you are still bitter. If thats the case, then heres a little something to make you feel better.....

Silva looked unstoppable in his two previous fights, a notch above everyone else. I'm not sure if he looked that level above on the ground but he managed to get by just the same. It will definately be interesting to see his opponents approach in his next fight - I can gaurantee Franklin wont stand and bang with him again and I think Jason MacDonald might have more of a shot than I would have originally given him.
