ufc sucks at dealing with penalties...

1. they hardly ever take any points away from illegal blows

2. they will just keep telling u to stop holding the fence and theres no penalty at all

3. if the loser looses by an illegal blow or badly damage because of it.. and unable to fight... is declared the looser!! wtf

4. theres probably more things but i can' tthink now

ufc need to really inforce their own god dam rules and stop awarding cheaters with the win!

Silva was using his elbows to the side of Lutters head and Huerta hit Halverson on the shoulder with his knee.

Both moves are legal so no, the UFC does not suck.

Yeah, I agree here.
They pretty much just warn you. So you might as well do whatever you want. Hell AA kicked someone in the face on the ground. EVERYONE seems to grab the fence whenever the hell they want to and no one cares.

The Huerta blow was clearly to the shoulder, but oddly enough that isn't even the point. Yves thought the blow was to the head, so he warned him. But then awarded him the victory. If he THOUGHT he nailed him to the head and kocked him out that is an automatic DQ.

--Something I posted in another thread--

Also, I don't know why this is being ignored, but Silva DID land 4 fully illegal elbows to Lutter's head, which after the fight made his forehead look Fing pregnant.

The 4 time UFC champ Randy Couture saw it, but I think he didn't want to make Herb "Fing" Dean look like a chump in yet another title fight. To define why those elbows were illegal, elbows in the UFC need to be deliver in a swinging motion across the body, not in a up/down digging motion. That is why usually people end up hitting with the forearm more than the actual elbow. It needs to be a continuous rotating swing. Silva just drove the point of his elbow into the top of Lutter's head. That is so illegal, I was looking at the TV yelling "OMG .... DQ again for Silva!"

I'm glad Lutter lost, cause he is a fat chump, but Silva sems to have a hard time following the rules of the organizations he fights in. He better read the damn manual, and the UFC needs to start enforcing its rules!

gee, should i say it again? YELLOW CARDS

until then, they won't be a legit sport. you have to be able to enforce the rules you set out... and the UFC doesn't, never has, and maybe never will.

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

In the slow-motion the elbows do come across the side of the body. From the first angle it does look up and down but I dont think that it was.

the elbows didnt come straight down. watch it again. they come down and then he follows through across his body. if they came straight down there wouldnt be any follow through at all.

IMO the elbews were illigal. Although they followed a "swinging motion", the elbows should have come from the other side. The fist should be near the head FIRST and the tip of the elbow to follow, NOT the elbow first then the fist. I do believe this is what the "downward" strike is disallowed for in essence.

It needs to be cleared up, but i was also shouting for a DQ, and initially thought Herb Dean was stopping the fight for the illigal elbows. I was with Rogan on this, what was the difference from that and the downward elbow but a little more pressure. The right hand should start from his right side and swing across, NOT start from his left and allow the elbow connect before ANY othe part of the arm passes his head.

And i agree also with the knee, the ref shouted "no knee's to the head", then proceeded to let him lie down and get the crap punched out of him, if you thought he knee'd him illigally STOP THE FIGHT drop a point and restart. I expect Herb Dean to be crap these days, seems only Steve Mazagati and Big John are worthy
