Who knows when Carwin is coming back, if ever. If Carwin is unavailable and JDS/Cain just fought eachother and Brock beat Nelson who would get the next title shot over Brock? Mir? Nog who hasn't fought in around a year?

Unless Dana signs Fedor/Werdum/Overeem in the next 6 months Brock can all but guarantee a title shot if he beats Nelson impressively.

Edit Sorry about the double post.
I understand the division isnt deep. Maybe after a win he will get it, I think someone will come up as a #1 contender after JDS. They might give Mir a shot if he wins his next fight. I would love it if they signed Overeem but I don't see that happening anytime soon because of his love for fighting in K1. Unless Fedor leaves M1 i don't see that happening either. Werdum could be signed at some point but what is the point with him. He got demolished by JDS and i think Cain would wreck him as well. I would like to see Pat Barry start fighting again though.

I hate the Bleacher Report's MMA section soooo bad.
They are so unbiased and sometimes so uneducated about the sport. Here are examples of both:

On the top 10 most anticipated fights in UFC history Nr. 4 to Nr. 1 were all Lesnar's fights and one of them had just been announced at the time (Lesnar - Cain)

And on the top 10 fights GSP should do were such names as Velasquez, Shogun, Overeem, Fedor and Lesnar.

They are complete morons.

I dont think it matters how hard Brock trains, he will never beat Cain.. I do think he could beat Roy Nelson though..

Brock will never be a champion again. I'm fine knowing that. Non champion ='s less hype and less marketing. I refer to the time that he was on the cover of every magazine and every website the black eye of MMA. What an embarrassment to the sport.

Brock is never going to be champion again. I've been saying this for a long time now but his wrestling is vastly over rated and his striking is really quite poor.

The days of one dimensional champs are long over, the sport has evolved. Brock isnt going to suddenly become some pro boxer/kickboxer in the span of a year or two and i dont think hes ever going to react well to getting punched in the face. Being honest here the only other fighter i have ever seen react so badly to getting hit hard is Bob Sapp. And look how long Sapp has been fighting for, he still hasnt learned how to take a punch.

Some people are born to fight, some arn't. Lesnar is a wrestler, not a fighter.

BLAST!!

But you're probably right.... I'll reserve final judgement for Brock when he returns, if he returns. I'm still a Brock fan and I'll be a fan until he retires. Hopefully he hasn't already retired.

I'd really like to see him fight Big Nog or Roy next. If he loses his next fight, I'll put money on him retiring.

Brock has to be the best, the alpha male. If he loses his next fight and comes to the realisation that hes never going to be champ again, he will move onto some thing else.

I do like him as a person though, personally i think hes quite a funny guy.

I agree on the alpha male thing, which is why I think his beating probably took a greater mental beating on Brock then most other fighters. Brock's used to winning his whole life, being a physical dominator and has probably never been straight out man-handled ever, the way Cain man-handled him. He probably feels damn near violated and he's probably in ego shock.

Obviously, I hope he returns and does a few more fights, but who knows, he doesn't need the money, so only time will tell.
