Ooh, Alves vs Shields please. Then we don't have to waste GSP's time with him.

Sounds fair too because Shields definitely doesn't deserve a title shot after his last performance.

That's "porn" right there!

After Condit gets past Lytle...why not?!

It's just the time-distance between Condit's fight and Alves...2 months.

I kinda feel bad for Alves because he really is a phenomenal striker BUT, I can't see him matching up with the elite wrestlers in the division. Yeah, he beat Koscheck, but he still has to deal with Fitch, Shields and GSP, who arguably are even better wrestlers. Add to this the fact that his short limbs don't give him the opportunity to keep distance and the fact that he doesn't have explosive power in his hands to make any shot count, and I don't see him ever making past the elite WW guard.

I would love to see him try though.

It was old school Alves tonight. I was ready to be let down again, but he delivered.

That interviewer is smart. She is talking to a WW about the WEC merger.

Wow.

Not me.
Like i've allready mentioned in another thread: GSP is maybe the smartes fighter in the UFC, maybe in the world.

He would just fight into BJ's biggest weakness: his wrestling. GSP-Penn 3 would just look like GSP-Penn 2!

As for Kos: he definitely needs to stay at WW.
And if he is smart he should try and copy something from GSP: fighting intelligence.
This fight proved that Kos has one of the best wrestling at WW, maybe the best!
i know he wants/tries to become a better mixed martial artist and develop his all-arround game...but if he would get back to his wrestling roots, he could dominate almost everyone not named GSP.

Thing is...will he do it?!

Possible match-ups:
-winner of Diaz-Kim
-Mike Pyle
-Story
-Ellenberger

.

BELIEVE!

I think Alvez is the obvious #3. So Kos will have to settle for #4.
