UFC are afraid to see Matt Hughes lose AGAIN after getting killed by GSP. They are hoping for a GSP/Hughes rematch sometime which will do great in the buy rates BUT if Hughes fought and LOST TO Sanchez then it will effect Hughes popularity GREATLY. I predict Hughes/Sanchez after Hughes/GSP 3.

This is a great lead up for him with GSP.
Wow I guess your IQ is as low as his. I NEVER SAID IT WAS A TITLE FIGHT!!!!!!! It was a contender fight. Sanchez should be fighting someone better than Koscheck. Enough Said. They won't put him against Hughes because they don't want their golden boy to lose, they wont put him against penn because he (Sanchez) might lose. But to put him against Koscheck is not right. I would still rather see him go against number 1 contenders. If you don't see why I feel that way then I strongly question your MMA knowledge.

P.S. And please don't talk about money or anything else, I am talking about true fans and what should be next. So, "Dana is trying to get money out of his fighters" is not going to work. You can all agree that Sanchez SHOULD be fighting Penn or Hughes.

Karo won the first two rounds in my eyes. But, that's me. You're allowed to think otherwise.

kos vs diego makes perfect sense right now.

diego is definitely deserving of a title fight or contender fight. he's not getting the title fight cause GSP is fighting serra. and really the reason he didnt get the top contender fight yet is because hughes is still the #1 contender. hughes needed a rebound fight that would be a confidence booster.

so diego's next option: kos. kos isn't that much of a step down, he's a solid fighter and he continues to get better. its a good fight at the right time for everyone. diego will get his chance's after this fight. probably with hughes first and then if he wins, GSP.

Who would Diego be fighting if Kos isn't around? Hughes is already booked for a fight and GSP has to deal with Serra and his title shot stipulation from TUF. Penn would be the only other option but he most likely will go to LW. Kos is the only viable solution for Diego, and he is in the co-main event.

For those talking about BJ Penn:

Not gonna tell you how I know this, and I don't care if you guys believe it or not, we'll find out when it's officially announced.

But I'm pretty sure BJ Penn will be fighting Jens Pulver at The Ultimate Fighter 5 finale.

Makes perfect sense...TUF 5 is 16 LW, BJ (now) and Jens are also LW, and having the coaches fight at the finale is exactly something the UFC would be pulling off now, after screwing up TUF 4 so badly.

Good job man, I totally forgot about that situation lol. Ok guys thanks for the input, I'm glad some of you saw where I was coming from. Regardless, Kos is going to lose this match, then Diego will fight a contender.

Actually it looked like most people here thought Diego fighting Kos made more sense than you were giving it. Kos is a top 10 WW!

I wouldn't recommended going around questioning the intelligence of everyone who doesn't agree with you. It's not the smartest thing to do ;-)

...and yes, BJ and Jens are fighting after the show.

Diego is going to beat Koscheck. In the TUF semifinal he clearly beat him. But that was without training and coaching. Diego has Greg Jackson and that is the determining factor. This is going to be like Bonnar/Griffin 2.

Well it may seem that people are in disagreement with me but they are not. People are resorting more to the idea of money and contenders not being available to fight as opposed to whether Diego should be fighting a contender. But I catch your drift. You're right Kos is the only understandble competition for Diego right now... Why don't we just let Thiago Alves fight with Kos and wait for Diego to fight Hughes? I don't know. Whatever I give up. Just wanted to see him fight someone else.
