Its GSP, why would he need a tune up fight? and after Vitor who does Anderson have left face that he hasnt already beat? maybe Okami, but i think fans would much rather see GSP v Anderson.

I think an immediate title fight is fine. GSP is not known for going into the ring to bang or lay and pray. He is known for his endurance, stick and move and agility. One weight class up isn't going to negate what he is best at and Silva is the same type of fighter. It will all boil down to who is the better striker and endurance. As far as the ground game goes I think GSP will do well against Silva.

I think it's whatever GSP wants if he's moving up. If he wants an immidiate shot, give him one, if he wants a tune up fight first, give him one and let someone step into the plate. If someone beats George even if it's at 185 it's a huge deal, so someone will step up.

Penn got a title shot right away when he moved up, so yeah its gotta be for the title or it wouldn't be worth it for GSP.

For his own good, I think it would be best if he gets a tune-up match, but I, as a fan, want to see this fight happen ASAP! Like someone else mentioned, if GSP loses, I don't want to hear people say he wasn't acclimated to the weight, etc., etc... I think the size difference will play a huge part in moving up to 185. I think we can all see that GSP is physically maxed out for 170, but at the same time, he will make a small 185 mainly because most of those guys basically walk around at 200+ pounds (Andy at 220 I believe) while GSP probably walks around barely at 190. For GSP to get up to that weight and still be able to dominate people in wrestling will be a feat in itself, in my opinion. I think if he is able to succeed at 185, his stand-up will make the most difference at 185 than his wrestling.

Him losing his first match doesn't effect his legacy/standing to a great degree. I'd rather see George "test the waters" at MW before he gets in the cage with the real monsters of the division. If he does in fact struggle with a lower level MW he may want to move back down to WW.
Personally I'd be really stoked if GSP came to the MW division looking really strong and kicking butt. However if he immediately fights Anderson and Anderson beats the crap out of him, then he gets Vitor and Vitor Smashes him, and then Chael and Chael demolishes him. All this to learn he's really not a MW. I like GSP and I don't want to see this.

I believe he should get a tune up fight before getting a title shot, however I'm pretty sure if he decides to move up to MW Dana's gonna want that superfight right away.

Did Penn get a tune up fight? No if the champ moves up he gets an immediate title shot. Especially since we are talking about #1 and #2 on the p4p list. Nobody wants to see GSP/Okami if they can have GSP/Anderson Silva.
