Why would his cardio be awful at 185? He doesnt need to cut more than 5-10. If anything It would be better than ever.

And Im pretty sure Dana has said that GSP would get an immediate title shot should he go up a weightclass, and damn rightfully so!

Oh and one more thing.
ALOT of people want to see this fight, Dana has said he will put on the fights that people want to see!
I say we start one of those "campaigns" like we had a couple years ago when we all wanted Fedor In the UFC. Just keep spamming Dana on his twitter, when you see him in person, on his YouTube Blog here and there! Just keep nagging him for Silva vs GSP and we will get It. This fight needs to happen before one of them loses, or one of them gets to old.
I dont care If Its for a championship belt, make It a 5rd catchweight. I dont care I just want to see these two guys go at It. Screw Shields & Vitor, make this happen asap

GSP loses the tune up fight, the UFC loses out on a huge amount of money.

It would be foolish for the UFC to give him anything other than a title shot.

PS

The reason Dana was so resistant to this fight is because it is going to kill off one of their biggest stars. The best outcome they can hope for is a really close fight so they get an instant rematch.

GSP or Andersons stock is going to go way down after the fight.

The bolded part is speaking the truth in so many ways!

And i also agree the loser of this possible match-up would have his stock drop a bit, but not dramatically.

I think Dana has 5-10 scenarios ready somewhere in his office. He has this fight on his mind and he knows this would bring him huge ratings ----> big sponsors ----> a ton of money.

And Dana loves this.

The way GSP-Penn II killed BJ's stock? It didn't really hurt BJ at all, people just wrote it off as GSP being amazing and bigger than BJ. Same thing here if GSP loses, he lost to a guy as good as him who weighs 20 lbs more. No shame in that.

Now if GSP beat Silva, then yes Silva's stock is hurt but even then the UFC has the bright side of having this superhuman two division champion in GSP that would be an undisputed P4P king.

Add in potential rematches and I don't see how the UFC can lose here.

It did hurt BJ's stock. It knocked him off the P4P rankings (at least out of the top 3)and leaves him in very murky water in the WW division now.

You don't see how the UFC can lose? Open your eyes man.

Arguably there 2 biggest stars fighting + one of them losing and their mystique being disspelled.

I think if GSP stays at WW and wins another 2 or 3 fights and literally has no one left to fight then the UFC will have nothing to lose. This is only because people won't want to buy a PPV to watch GSP own noobs.

BJ's stock drop and trip to WW was from losing twice to Edgar, not GSP. This "mystique" thing is what killed boxing. The big fights that people really want to see either don't happen or happen too late because of protecting big names.

Yes, Silva and GSP are the UFC's two biggest stars and they are close enough in weight to fight so FFS let's make it happen now. How much mystique would have been left if Sonnen had enough sense to stand up for a minute in a half? Every fight Silva and GSP have risks that mystique more than fighting each other.
