You said the Wolf was the Bruce Lee of China. Which is inaccurate. Bruce Lee was a huge star in Hong Kong, a place that combined Western Civilization and East. The Chinese were traditional and he's not a huge deal there.

what does their culture have anything to do with it???
anyways, bruce lee studied wing chun among other traditional chinese martial arts which he called chinese boxing, with western martial arts like fencing, boxing, bjj etc to make his own style of Jeet Kune Do. if you think he studied "hong kong martial arts" then good for you, but you have no idea what youre talking about.

Just a quick correction; Jeet Kune Do is a philosophy, not a style.

well yes... it matters as long as people think bruce lived in china, which he never did.
by saying he lived in china, is like saying ive lived in mexico.. it just didnt happen to be mexico at the time.

Also, comparing a traditional Chinese martial artist from China, to a multi-disciplined movie star from Hong Kong that did almost zero official fighting.

the only thing i can say to all posters above me without giving them the respect of quoting them (because its just ridiculous) that 1. Hong Kong is in China like Quebec is in Canada. the British mandate was there, well bruce lee is by no way british. sorry fellas hong kong=china now and before, and if you disagree i dont care. 2. it doesnt matter where he lived, i never said where he lived until that poster pointed out "he never lived in china" making for one of the most pointless discussions i was in on this site.

Exactly. Like phoenix AZ was in mexico, but not while I lived there.. So I never lived in mexico like bruce never lived in china. This is not a very hard concept.

but phoenix arizona is under american control. the people are american, they speak english, etc. hong kong was under british control. were the people there white? were they speaking english? would you say it resembled england in any way? no, it was no different then tibet, macao, taiwain or china. the difference between hong kong and china is not worth discussing. Im not denying there IS a difference, i just dont think it differentiates bruce lee from china.
