Rashad says that fighting at your natural weight and not cutting weight can be an advantage against someone who does.
Are these guys delusional? Or are their opinions more relevant than armchair MMA fans?

I will always put my money on guys who are in the game than cyber warriors like us, unless they have something to gain from it - still I think they might be wrong

Rashad is definately going to be bias, but at the same time, he must see a lot of GSP up against Marq and himself. He would know the strength and striking of GSP and be able to do some relative comparison.
I'm not sure who would win between he and Silva, but man it would be the biggest fight in UFC history, the Mayweather V Pac equivelent. I will be pumped for months if this one is signed.

not only that but AS has very long limbs and is very tall, you dont get how easily he could lock a body tirangle on GSP and keep him there, GSP has a small body, and AS has freakishly long legs, not only that but AS actually likes to trap ppl in body triangles from the guard, its a move he likes to use and probably would use against GSP
so yes with silvas long ass legs its very hard for GSP to keep passing guard whenever he wants and just hold him down
also because of GSPs small size AS can easily keep throwing up triangles while GSP is in his guard, can GSP defend them? sure....but AS has 25 mins to pull one off, just because GSP has sub defense doesnt mean he cant get subbed, thats not how bjj works my friend
all im saying is taking ppl down is one thing, controlling them is another, GSP is good at controlling ppl his size but when it comes to AS its a different game, sparring with big guys and actually fighting are 2 very different things
no way can a simple ''GSP takes all WWs down, GSP will take AS down because his TDD sucks, so GSP wins'' determine a fight, just like another poster said, rashad can take shogun down...why arent ppl saying rashad will easily take shogun? because of his sweeps?
yeah...the #1 and #2 P4P fighters are facing each other and that is what you are betting on? good luck

Good observation. The body lock is his patented move as it constricts their breathing and keeps his opponent at bay. Defensive/counter move while he throws his elbows. In the Lutter fight he elbowed the shit out of his head and the same against Chael. Anderson Silva has one of the most active guards constantly striking all the while looking for submissions. GSP will not be able man handle Anderson the way he did against others. I predict GSP will go for a leg lock (ankle lock, heel hook, knee bar) as that is his best opportunity. Other than that I can actually see Anderson taking out GSP within the first round. Anderson will not be playing around. Anytime there's a huge challenge on the line he comes out with a sense of urgency like no other. Good for the fans, bad...very bad for the opponent. I think Anderson can rock GSP with his own weapon a right counter jab followed by a mid left kick then a flying knee. He knows GSP will go straight for the takedown immediately and will use that opportunity to take him out much like he did against Carlos Newton.
*NOTE* Average height of GSP opponents are 5"10' and reach advantage of 70 maybe. This plays a big role in his takedowns as he can cover large distances. In the Chael fight he got rocked at least once by Anderson's elbow in the fourth. Can GSP recover from that. Interestingly enough I think Anderson should embrace the takedown cuz he knows it's coming. Use it to his advantage by timing it. He has at least five opportunities to land a home run shot.
GSP can win by submission (leg locks) or five round UD.
Anderson can win by any submission and strikes at any given moment.

I really don't believe either of them. Silva isn't like anyone GSP has faced before. I think he'd get knocked out before he could get the takedown. And even if he gets him there it's not like Silva doesn't have a BJJ blackbelt with an awesome guard.

I think that Florian and Rashad are a bit biased due to the fact that Rashad trains out of Jackson's camp and Florian also trains with GSP from time to time.
With that being said, I think that GSP has a great shot at winning this fight. Silva is unlike anyone GSP has faced, and GSP is unlike anyone Silva has faced.
