i'm still convinced that it is the sound of there feet hitting the floor. everytime i hear the sounds it seems to match up perfectly with a foot hitting the floor. for example watch when there is around 3:46 left. here we see crocop kindof faking a punch he has some quick foot movement and we hear the sound a couple of times as his feet hit. i also watched from the 3:23 portion on until 3:14. all these sounds also seem to sychronize with crocops feet hitting the floor, the third one being him putting weight on his right foot to dodge sanchezs right hook.

I think they just got a new floor for the octogon that is rather noisy as you can hear this exact same noise in other fights as well(Rampage vs Eastman). If need be i will find the exact points this happens in that fight as well.

Ya it is the floor, no doubt about it. When I heard it the first thing I thought of was watching wrestling when I was younger and the mat sounding like that. If you guys think it is something else just watch wrestling one day, I am sure they still have the sound when a guy gets slammed and stuff.

Yea the sound is the same as the wood suspension. It's just the timing that is suspect.

In an interview of Dana White, he said that when he attended a Cro Cop fight in Pride, those were some of the loudest kicks he had ever heard.

I highly doubt that it was a special-effect type sound, don't underestimate Cro Cop, he's kicks really are that powerful.

And the reason I think it sounds different is because of the different camera/mic angles that UFC uses instead of pread, UFC has to be above the fence, and behind it (which can deter the sound a bit), while Pride has an open ring.

I guarantee you it is not hte noise of CC's leg slapping Eddie sanchez because you can hear that noise and has different timing and a totally different, but scary, sound. The noise in Pride FC is also different AND GENUINE.

Now the question is, did the UFC insert these noises each time CC kicked to add to the hype and back up what dana was saying about hearing CC's kicks. Or did the noise come from synchronized footstomps which happen when CC kicked?

I personally feel like it was artificial because the timing just doesn't match up. Watch 3:23 of the fight to see. The noise happens 3 times, the last one seems like a misfire when it looks liek CC might throw another leg kick
EXACTLY! Good someone else noticed that part. Yea he cranked up and looked like he was gonna throw a kick and then you hear the slap noise and his leg I don't even think comes off the ground. It also sounds like the slap was stopped early by whoever was doing it cuz they knew they ****ed it up.

I just watch the fight again of my tv a couple minutes ago and those noises were from Mirko's foot hitting the floor. Watch the fight again in good quality.

About to watch Silva vs Lutter again.

This is the whole reason I speculated it could have been effects. Dana made such a big deal about it and then perhaps he wanted the home audience to hear. If you pay close attention you can hear the sound of CC's leg hitting Sanchez...it is not the sound which we are debating over.

The sound we are debating over IS the sound of the wooden suspension of the cage mats. The topic of debate is WAS IT NATURAL, from shifts in weight/foot stomps that were at the same time as CC's kicks, OR were they artificially added in?

That is the topic of the debate. We know the suspension makes that noise and you can hear it in the other fights.

When Anderson Silva was talking and his translator was doing the voice over, my Dad was all like, "What the hell! The timing is off!". I thought he was completely serious and I didn't even clue in to the voice over. Yeah, he cracks really lame jokes that only he thinks are funny.
