Wow, just watched it again and i guess it was herb dean.

But you can't say the triangle didn't get him, if you watch it his arm starts to to the mat.

Putting your hand on your head does 1 thing and 1 thing only in a triangle choke, it so you dont pass out, but it still takes it out of your physically and if applyed long enough it can still make you pass out. But i guess your right, it does say submission-strikes on sherdog.

I just have a hard time believing that it was like the 4 elbows he took and not the choke he was in.

Yea downward elbows to the top of the head gotta hurt like a mother****er. Spitfire if you have the fight taped watch the part where Lutter pounds on Silva again and count how many hits landed. I noticed you made a mention to it in your last post just want you to see it again without all the excitement and adrenaline going through you and it won't look nearly as good. Just watch carefully and count the ones he landed and then try to say Silva was in trouble or getting hurt hahah....

It was an impresive win I have to say. My fingers were crossed that Silva would win it on the matt just to shut everybody up in the post show that were raving on how Lutter would walk right through Silva once it was on the matt.

Last time I checked, downward elbows were illegal. Last time I checked elbows to the top of the head were illegal. Good reffing!

As far as Lutter goes in the UFC I think he has done himself and that will be the end for him in the UFC now. I never rated him on TUF4 and then when he couldn't even make weight on the weekend I lost little respect I did have for him. He went on TUF4 knowing that he would be competing for a chance to fight for the title so from that point he knew about what weight he needed to be. To let it go all the way to the weigh in without making sure you could make it is just slack and deserves no respect!

Man that's what I was saying at the time of the fight! I was biting my nails thinking he was gonna get DQed but Couture KIND OF explained that because Silva's arm was parallel to the ground, and because he was knicking his elbow off the side of Lutter's head and then hitting the top that is was somehow legal?? Rogan and Randy both laughed cuz Randy really wasn't sure if it was illegal or not and he has been with the UFC for so long you would think he would know.

They were downward but also since he was on his side they were moreless sideways? That's what I got from Randy's explanation.

Wow, those comments were certainly unprovoked and uncalled for. Perhaps if you boys aren't capable of having a grown up, civilized debate free of name calling and personal attacks you should go find a forum where that sort of thing is acceptable.
