I'm not surprised his punches were weak though. Lutter looked like he'd cut so much weight he'd got AIDS.

I don't think it was even close. Silva had both arms up defending. There was no head bouncin off the mat, Silva wanted a submission/tap to prove a point. IMHO Silve could have koed lutter at any time. come on he has a 100% punch stat with pinpoint accuracy.

Nope.
Silva was looking straight into the punches and using his arms to defend, both by pushing Lutter off and by shifting his weight ever so slightly to make it harder for Lutter to land a clean strike. I would have looked worse from the audience I am sure, but in the ring and on camera you can see he is not really landing anything.

Silva was NOT staring into the sky in confusion, was NOT tucking his arms across his head, was NOT in the fetal position trying to shield.

watch the replay, the first three land on silva's cheeks and then silva is able to push lutter up with those long ass arms of his. only one more punch after that connects.

YES!! this dudes right, Silva would have killed Lutter standing, Silva wanted to prove his point to everyone showing why hes good standing and on the ground... and he did just that, quickly defending himself when in a mount, then thinking his way out of it. But hell everyone is like OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Lutter is great and silva got lucky.

hahaha, but i was suprised at lutter for even making it to the second round!! good for him!

For most of you, ignorance is bliss, but for me it's about the truth.

i think that the ref might have stopped it soon if silva didn't do anything, luckily, he did! they didn't look that strong but that many punches to the face adds up.

Yea like everyone else has said Silva was defending properly and Lutter only landed a couple weak ones which I thought looked more like with the heel of his hand than his fist/knuckles.

100 % agreed, I said minutes after this fight. I saw about 6 or more opportunities were Silva could of KTFO Lutter.

If the ref stopped the fight at that point, I think he could kiss his reffing career goodbye. That may have been seriously controvercial due to how silva was defending. He just looked so calm cool and collective even with lutter in full mount.

The only person I can see taking that belt from Silva right now is Franklin. And that is only if he is NOT gunshy after the beating silva gave him. To elaborate more on that I would like to wait until after I see Franklin fight again.

Don't get me wrong, I think Franklin is awsome. Superior stand up and ground game. But a beating like the one he took can and sometimes does have life changing effects. Only time will tell and I wish only the best for Ace, I really hope he comes back hard.

P.S. wouldluv2fightu that avatar rocks
