Has Diego Sanchez Proven Himself As Title Shot Worthy?

He fights Josh Koscheck at UFC 69, if he were to win this, would that make him a number one contender to fight Georges St. Pierre, I mean the guy is undefeated and has knocked out Riggs, which isnt the easiest thing to do. It seems like the ultimate fighter winners dont get as much respect as they should, another example is rashad evans.

I think an average of 20 professional/recorded fights is standard to be contender material. Sanchez is close, but not there yet. I feel he should fight and win against Kos, then fight the winner of matt hughes next fight.

If he wins that there is no denying him his shot.

Him and Rashad both have title shots in their future but I want to see both of them really tested first.

Rashad vs someone like Rampage, Sanchez vs someone like Hughes or Penn.

I would have to agree. He does not deserve a title shot just yet but a contender shot is right up his alley. I'm still complaining that he doesnt have one yet though lol. Look at me other thread "UFC 69: Shootout" if you want to see me ranting about it lol.

Karo doesnt count for Diego?
SAnchez was supposed to get a title shot after that one, and then he fought Riggs, and now he's fighting KOS. At this pace he'll never get the damn title shot.

oh wow i just found this its from december though saying Diego doesnt want a title shot yet, he would rather fight Hughes first, that would be interesting. Diego has speed while Hughes has brute strength.

Maybe Diego knows he can't beat GSP.

Diego has talked about how when he fights GSP he wants the money to be right. He is trying to finish out his current contract and sign another before he fights GSP. He of course deserves a title shot though. After he beat Karo he deserved it.

Matt Hughes is first in line for the title after Serra. I don't know if that is the route that the UFC will take or what. I would rather see Sanchez fight Hughes for the #1 contender spot than just let both of them at GSP.
