Hell no, Lutter blew his chance. Not making weight was inexcusable and demonstrates he didn't take the fight seriously. He can fight at 205 if he can't cut. He ruined the main event by making it non-title then he lost anyways. That was his one and only chance, IMO.

Plus Lutter is boring. He had Silva mounted and threw a bunch of sloppy punches before getting rolled.

I'd much rather see Franklin, MacDonald, Marquardt, or Swick get shots.

Wow, the amount of TUF fans here is crazy. So what, Lutter took him down(I will give him props, I didn't think it would happen)he didn't do much for the 5-6 mins he had him there expect LNP and GNP for about 10 secs which Anderson swept out of. Am I saying that Anderson is a god on the ground? NO. But did he show a good ground game plan? YES. Get a triangle in and don't work for the sub(because that gives more chances of Lutter slipping out) but rather just use it to hold him and pound him.

Anderson deserves credit. He is the champ. He beat Lutter, Franklin, Leben and finished all those fights. He is damn good. But he showed how he can be beat. And he will be beat in his next fight. He will be taken down repeatedly and beaten.

silva was mounted by all you TUF fans bjj god. he swept out of it...twice. he then locked in a triangle. guys, silva did a good job. his takedown defense was shaky, but he did more from the bottom guard than lutter did on top.

Lutter doesn't deserve another shot at the title. He will probably be penalized by the UFC. Since his contract states that he is granted a title shot, but he blew it. Nate the Great or Mike Swick should be next in-line.

Man, his weakness, if anything lutter's weakness is his BJJ, yes he took down silva... ooohhh wow, but the only 1 thing he did right was passing silva's gaurd quickly, intot he full mount. But thats ALL he did that was right, having a mount position and sitting up that far on his chest like he was doing is very bad for getting in good shots (and silva blocked most of them) and then see how easy he got reversed out of the mount, oooohh wow Lutter isn't that good. Yes given if it was a REALLY good BJJ fighting silva it may have went another way, but Lutter is nothing comared to Silva on the gound. Just because the UFC wants you to think that this would be a good fight, doesn't mean it would be.

Take downs mean nothing when it comes to submission artists, because they would rather be on the ground then standing, HENCE why Silva doesn't cared to be taken down! Cuz he knows his skills on the ground are great!

so please dont say his take down defence is horrid, cuz the only way to beat silva would be to take him down and lay and gay him. He won't be beaten on the ground by anyone in his division.

He's holding 2 belts now, and you are saying that his ground game is no good. Theres only 1 person who can take out Silva in the UFC, and Silva has already lost too, and this guy has not lost a match in the UFC as of yet.

So dont say you know the sport wheny ou say crap like... ooohh 1 elbow made him tap, cuz he got like 4-5 in a row, and thats what made him tap. Lutter was dumb enough to get in that situation, he deserves every hit he got!

I dont think people are arguing lutter is better, quite the opposite really. However silva did show a few holes in his game.

And if your talking about okami's DQ win over silva than thats laughable. While okami vs silva would be a cool fight, dont use his DQ win over silva as an argument to hype him up.

Hope your not talking about Rich Franklin beating up on Silva. If there is a re-match Silva will destroy him again period. There is NOTHING that leads me to believe Franklin would have a chance against Silva unless he came in with a baseball bat.
