Dana is making the re-match because he sees an opportunity to make a shitload of money. That was a damn good fight, the re-match figures to be a damn good fight, and Pettis has the ESPN top ten highlight. As long as he doesn't fight again, he's totally sale-able.

The most money lies in re-match, and promising Pettis a shot at the title no matter how it comes out. If Edgar is going to be out for a period of time, make Pettis-Maynard for an interim belt.

As for Pettis right now, $50,000 or so in his bank account should take care of any lingering resentment.

I think this is way more deserving of an instant rematch than the BJ fight. But me, personally I don't think the UFC should make the rematch, because it would screw the lightweight division. If it was the HW.LHW or MW I would agree, but in LW you have Pettis, Soti and Miller waiting.

This could possibly manifest into a very rarely seen, Tetralogy. If Frankie wins this next fight, it'll be 1(Frankie)-1(Draw)-1(Maynard). This could get crazy!!!
