While this might be true, it would make Zuffa look dumb if they wouldn't aim for the title unification match, as it would make the WEC belt look less important and thus making all of the WEC fighters look bad.

Also, he isn't called "Showtime" for no reason, lower ranked opponents or not, he has smashed trough them all only going to decision twice and his only loss being a split decision loss. His record is very similiar with Miller's and Soti's basically, and as he has the WEC belt now it would be both unfair and a dumb business move (as explained above) to skip him on the title shot line.
Edgar - Maynard III is the only valid excuse to postpone the title unification match right now basically.

"Showtime" or not Dunham still has more selling power because he has fought a top guy in the UFC and is headlining the next event...

The WEC belt is a gimmick now and there are very few people(the last of which are average fans) that actually believe it is on par with the UFC. It doesn't make WEC fighters look bad, what makes them look bad is the bigger names losing like Brown and Grispi did last night.

Also maybe you misunderstood but Dunham vs Pettis was an idea for if Edgar and Maynard had a rematch.

dunham doesn't deserve a title shot if he beats guillard for the iterim belt, even though i think he beat sherk he still doesn't have the win, soti and miller are above him, and i know miller would kill dunham with his wrestling and his better standup, same with soti except soti has better jiu-jitsu not wrestling.

Why would they have stood Silva-Vera up? Silva beat Vera down.

I can't recall which part of the fight Dana would have been angry about. Can anyone help? Silva was rather active from the top and was in all kinds of dominant positions from what I remember.

Silva looked great last night.

No he doesn't, that is absurd. Pettis was all over the place in the media recently the only fight anyone who isn't a hardcore fan would even know Dunham from is a loss to sherk(awful judging). Tens of millions of people saw that cage kick highlight.

I think what Dana said about Mazzagatti is that he didn't stop the fight where in some cases, it could have been stopped. Thiago just beat on him for pretty much the entire 15 minutes.
