Jon Madsen vs. Mike Russow at UFC Fight Night 24

Quote:
A pair of rising heavyweight stars will battle it out in Seattle as Jon Madsen and Mike Russow have agreed to meet at UFC Fight Night 24 on March 26.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Saturday.

Mike Russow (13-1) will make his first appearance in the Octagon since a stunning late-round knockout over former UFC prospect Todd Duffee back in May 2010.

Russow was dealing with some injuries after the fight, but he’s now back in action and looking to make it three in a row when he returns in March.

A fighter on an equally impressive run as of late is former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor Jon Madsen (7-0), who has steadily improved since exiting Season 10 of the reality show.

Madsen has gone 4-0 in the UFC since the show ended, and recently demolished Gilbert Yvel in the first round of their fight at UFC 121 in October 2010. The HIT Squad fighter will try to keep his momentum going when he faces Russow in March.

The UFC Fight Night 24 card taking place in Seattle is set to go down on March 26, although no official announcement has been made by the promotion about the upcoming card. Tito Ortiz vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is expected to headline the event.

Interesting match-up.
But i see Nadsen dominating the fight.

Russow won't pull "a Duffee" again this time.

Madsen by wrestling + Ground and Pound!

.

Interesting fight, like you say I think Madsen should take this one, but I will be routing for The Chin.

Well that should be some easy money depending on the odds. Russow won't get lucky twice and Madsen was really impressive in his last fight.

Madsen looked super impressive in his last bout, absolutely destroying Gilbert Yvel, and I'm expecting more of the same here. Just hope he continues with the aggressive gnp, the shots he was landing on Yvel were nasty. Should be a convincing win for him, and I see Madsen being one of the sleepers in the division, he's a much more talented dude than a lot of guys give him credit for. As George Sotiropoulos has proven, being knocked out on TUF is no indication of how well a guy will perform in the actual organisation.
