Bad move by the UFC imo, its ok cutting good fighters if they suffer a few losses if your plan is to bring in better fighters and give them the air time if they can do better.

Yet all I have seen the UFC do over the last year to the LHW division is cut and lose fighter after fighter and fail to bring in new better talent to replace the fighters they have lost, the HW division is already in ruins because of this type of policy, and now the LHW division is following the same path.

Vera would of been a good test for any for any new fighter in the division should the UFC have been looking to grow and expand at LHW, but this only further sets the division back and brings less competition to new fighters at LHW in the UFC making there road easier but less credible.

Oh well what is a loss imo to the UFC is another win for the circuit, there are a lot of good fights out there for Vera that I am sure many MMA promotions would love to set up, Bellator with there new MTV contract may wish to expand there ranks so as mentioned earlier it would be a really good move for them to sign him up.

Strikeforce could make really good use for him, a comeback fight for King Mo maybe or Renato Sobral could be very interesting to see.

Any random promotion like Shark Fights would have a good headline event between Vera and someone like Sokoudjou, in fact looking at the amount of action Sokoudjou gets on the Circuit outside the UFC its not hard to imagine that Vera could follow suit and get many fights.

I dont think Coker wants to take a chance on Vera.
What If he actually goes and wins the LHW SF belt.

Dana would have a field day on twitter talking about the low quality fighters SF has to have.

Brandon is not good enough to win the strap in STRIKEFORCE right now.. I actually think he'd be a good signing for Coker..

I'd like to see him go at it with guys like OSP and Gegard Mousasi.. in reality if he get's thrown in with top LHWs off the bat like Hendo, Mo and company he'd probably go 3 and out...

He might beat Whitehead.. I think Roger Gracie would sub him... he'd have a war with Trevor Prangley... that fight would be a toss up....

But all in all he's not a threat to the title holder..

Truth be told, I don't see Vera as much of a threat to anyone but up-and-comers.

He looked flat footed and lackluster when he came back, and w/out the additional weight, he's lost a lot of power to his striking.

He really needs to re-condition his body, maybe fight some catchweights before settling into either LHW or putting on serious muscle to move back to HW.
