I think we'll see Aldo/Hominick added if Hominick wins his next fight, either way I'm perfectly fine with it right now.

Always rooting for: Bisping, Shogun, Jon Jones, Daley, Hardy, Sonnen, Fedor, Couture, Jacare.

Obviously some cards have super hyped up fights and match-ups and some don't and no matter what I've stopped judging cards before the fights actually happen as you never know what can take place. Differing styles and tactics can creating amazing fights or lack-luster ones and until the fight gets underway I just try and enjoy watching live events.

Either way GSP is fighting and I'll be juiced to see him fight anytime anywhere.

It needs one more big fight ... i mean 2 big names. And i'm predicting it will be a MW bout.

Demian Maia maybe?! or Wanderlei Silva.....
Timing would be perfect!
If they add Wanderlei Silva vs Anybody, I will take back most of the stuff I had previously said. Wanderlei is not a door crasher but it pushes the card back up the respectability. He should be healthy and ready to go around that time. But GSP vs Jake Shields SHOULD be good. For a long time people have been saying Shields would be a serious threat to GSP if they fought. Now that Shields is in the UFC and the fight is finally happening, it could be a blast. Imagine if GSP lost the belt to Shields in front of 40,000 in Toronto? Also this could possibly be Couture's retirement fight, Randy has the honour to go out with a bang in such a huge venue with that many fans in attendance. Like Liddell, a Canadian event has the honour to see one of MMA's legends go out the way they would want to.

I never judge an event on the basis of names, as big names have disappointed us on more than one occasion. I have found all too often that it's the lesser/progressing names that put on the truly great fights, and that's why I'm excited about this card. I always tell people with a 'big name = big PPV' mindset... just remember UFC 108.
I wasn't accusing you of thinking that way psycho, I didn't interpret your post that way.

All these people that complain about fight cards before they happen are just nitpicking whino's who would bitch about anything. There's been quite a few threads like this one before many recent MMA cards, and more often than not the whino's are wrong.

I sure hope the people who complained about Maynard vs Edgar watched that Ariel helwani interview with Dana white where he called them morons. For once I agreed with Dana, and they deserve to hear it from the man himself.

Yeah, you can't judge a fight card before it's completely put together. The card is three months away. Not to mention not all the matches have been set, we only have the main event and co-main event!

I think that there is just a big expectation for a "superstar" packed card seeing as they are trying to fill a stadium (not arena) with a targeted audience of 40,000 people.

Yes it will sell out as its in Canada, also a sell-out cause its the first one in Toronto (largest city in Canada).

There are lots of great fights on the card, it will be entertaining, but it is lacking that one extra PPV style bout.

I agree with ELITEUNDISPUTED that Aldo / Hominick would / could be that 5th PPV bout if the stars align.

Aldo's time table - check

Top contender - (If he beats Roop and is uninjured) check

Local fighter local card - check

UFC 129-

Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Jake Shields
Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
Phil Davis vs. Matt Hamill
Ben Henderson vs. Mark Bocek

Rory MacDonald vs. James Wilks
Brian Foster vs. Sean Pierson
Jonathan Brookins vs. John Makdessi
Daniel Roberts vs. Claude Patrick
Pablo Garza vs. Yves Jabouin
Ivan Menjivar vs. Charlie Valencia
Jason MacDonald vs. Ryan Jensen

I don't know why but i think the same, the card doesn't come with a lot of expectations but some solid fighters, most of em having something to prove

I'm really looking forward to see jon brookins fight, with his attitude, he might have improved big time since TUF finale

GSP's a treat, I'll take a GSP fight anytime, his title defense might go either way if you ask me because of the psychological side of things, we know GSP's strong, but with his winning streak, there has to be a point in time when he won't be that much hungry anymore and start taking things lightly.

This card doesn't come with much expectations and this is basically why I think it'll be nice, because I see it full of surprises.

well, I don't have much knowledge, it's more an attitude question if you ask me

be positive and good things will happen
be negative and you'll miss out on good things

but don't forget at this level, any fight has the potential to become a good fight. and this card looks far from boring.

I don't know if I'd want another title fight on the card (unless it was HW).

Adding another 5 round would most likely result in pushing some of the prelim fights completely off the card! I say keep it to 1 title fight!
