Rampage Over-rated? Are strikers bad boxers?

wow am I the only one who thought he just looked like a really really bad boxer? look don't get me wrong I LOVE MMA and can appreciate it on many levels. I think guys like GSP are the future of UFC and can make the sport unique in that they use all of the different avenues available to win in a UFC bout. What I don't like is what rampage displayed the other night, just poor boxing skills. These guys that are just strikers may excite the fans with a knockout here or there, but because of the UFC's desperate need for mainstream acceptance it is more likely a quick stoppage because one figher threw a quick flury. At least with boxing there is a standing 8 count to recover from a flury, or you get to count to 10 to recover and make a fight of it, in mma these srikers just dominate for a few seconds and boom it is over. I wonder if there is a way to amend rules, or fix the ufc for a more satisfying conclusion to some of these fights.

standing 8 count is why boxers end up with different types of brain damage. Get hit in the head way more.

standing 8 counts and ten counts make it less like an actual fight and more like...boxing. boxing isn't fighting. period. if you were in a fight with someone and you had him rattled would you give him 10 seconds to recover or what? keep this pansy crap out of mma

no no... hmmmm how can I put this, it just seems that there are so many rules now in the UFC that the excitement of (SOME) the fights are being smothered. especially with the strikers..I was shocked that they stopped the cro crop fight the other day...this referee discretion can ruin a entire fight as we have seen time and time again i.e shamrock and tito etc. maybe if a fight is stopped because of a strike, they are given a few seconds to recover, see if it is a legit strike and not just what looked like a KO?

Rampage overrated? hmmm well since he isn't even a kickboxer, his core is wrestling, i'd say his rating is spot on since he did win both of his fights in K-1.
