Wow after one loss, the guy's fighting four top ten opponents when everyone else in the division is fighting one or two.

Machida is in a hell of a lot more trouble, if he loses to Randy he's in major trouble of being the new Brendan Vera if he beats Randy it'll stop the bleeding but he's still going to need to beat some other guys.

Wow, schooled me there. I do think he will lose to Silva though.
That's when strong suspicions of decline start to frequently appear in the fighting World. Anything is possible.

Favorite fighters:
1. Badr Hari
2. Remy Bonjasky
3. Mauricio Rua
4. Anderson Silva
5. Alistair Overeem

Yeah, I agree that Brandon fell really hard. Harder than hard. was never the same after the Dan Hardy fight, too. He was a solid gatekeeper until Dan beat him and he went into a downward spiral.

EDIT - Realised Marcus didn't have a quick rise or anything. But I agree with the poster who mentioned Gonzaga. Big time underachiever if there ever was one. I liked him.

Lesnar Lost to Mir then beat Herring got a gift shot vs Couture (LHW) then fights to real HW competitors and gets ass raped for 5 mins wins JUST and then gets ass raped for 4 mins and has to be stopped.

Lesnar hasnt had a rise IMO just alot of gifts and riding on his pre existing fame before the UFC. He will level out at his competition around Frank Mir , Carwin would beat the hell out of him again in a rematch as too would Cain.

Guys like Vera came from pretty much being unknown to most and then burst onto the UFC scene after 3 or so fights in WEC , racks up 4 finishes suddenly from nothing is a HW star in less than 2 years and the second coming thats a meteoritic rise.

Bisping Fan extraordinaire

Velasquez will be back

I guess it boils down to do you believe everything you hear? Your list is confusing because is just getting into the UFC meteoric?

A few of those guys were untested really or at the least you could call them green wile others like big Tim there is less wiggle room still he had a good run and now that more athletic big guys are fighting his run is over but at the time Tim looked invincible but again that has alot to do with the level of competition as well.

Most of the fighters listed had a rocky road and never looked unstoppable in the UFC, CC did he best in pride and in a ring but age plays a factor too.

Speaking specifically about the "fall" most fighters get a few chances at redemption. Who thinks Machida has fallen? Only a fool would fire him for losing to top 5 fighters and Dana wont cut him any time soon.

IDK a lot of the fighters dont seem to fit the thread, Vera dose but IMO most dont.

The problem with Machida is the LHW class coming up is so tough, so scary, and so filled with talent that I can see Machida falling into a serious hole. I don't think he'll go 5 years without winning a fight ala Tito but I can see him going 1-4 or 2-6 with loses to guys like Davis, Jones, Bader, Gustafsson. I can see him fighting for his career against a Bonnar or Hamill and who knows maybe they beat him and the UFC cuts him.

People expected a lot from Karo Parisian too. Sadly he never could seem to get it together.
