I think Daley has a good shout, arguably the No.1 KO artist in the UFC WW division gets cut from one little mistake that was blown way out of proportion.

Best thing is after watching the Kos/GSP fight, I would have loved to see GSP try to stand with Daley like he did with Kos, we could of really seen how far Freddie Roach has brought is boxing skills along then, but we all know that would never of happened should that fight of taken place, GSP would never of stood with Daley if he did had would more than likely of lost his title via KO.

Not taking anything away from GSP by that, taking Daley down like Kos did and just using LnP for 5 rounds would of been his smartest move and he has ever right to defend his title however he feels fit no matter how boring he is.

But still I see Daley achieving great things in the sport still over at SF.

Those are actually pretty good examples. Probably more hype for them. Tyson though was highly touted and just ran into bad situations. I always thought he had tons of talent and would be a contender. He probably should try 145lb if he can cut down.

Yah Karo should be added on the list. WEC WW Champ and went from UFC contender (don't think he ever got his shot though), to gate keeper, to winning a much needed bout only to be tested positive for banned painkillers, hired back, only to get released again.

Looks like he is pondering retirement from MMA competition. Probably focusing on BJJ competition.

Daley is an interesting choice. Had he had a shot at the title or taken out a few more top level guys I think he certainly would have fit the profile. He beat Kampmann which was a very solid test, lost to Kos, but right now he's doing well in SF.

I think they should do a documentary on this. Take your pick on any of the fighters or group of em for that matter. Would make for a very fascinating story.

I thought it was common knowledge even before his losses that Houston was just a brawler who had no ground skills at all... His only chance was to KO his opponent while standing and if the fight went to the later rounds his chances of winning against a skilled opponent were very limited.

On fighter that comes to my mind that somewhat fits to the category is Rameau Sokoudjou. He was highly hyped when entering the UFC just coming of wins against Lil Nog and Ricardo Arona. He got tooled by Machida and soon after lost to Luiz Cane and Babalu. He has now established himself as more of a journeyman as he now has a 10-8 record... He even managed to loss to Houston Alexander in September

Certain guys you feel for, others just fell victim to the sport.

Arlovski was one of the first true MMA guys at HW. He was in shape, and dangerous all over. Once guys around him started getting better, he became much less effective. Highlighted by getting cut and losing a handful of fights outside of the UFC.

Lil Evil just got old. The world of mma has become a young mans sport and despite being an excellent and exciting fighter throughout his career Jens couldn't keep up. Training let alone fighting has evolved so much since guys like Jens and Shamrock have started that at some point you are just so far behind the curve you have to call it a career.

Alexander was a flash in the pan and everyone knew it.

Karo fell to addiction.

Hard to feel bad for Efrain. He missed weight by what 6lbs or something. He has the talent but lacked the motivation for whatever reason. He may be back, but certainly needed a wakeup call.

I see your a massive Karo fan lol.

Actually that's a good one. Never crossed my mind. He actually legally changed his name all the while pursuing his outside career. Then he tried selling what was it his kidney... All the while he gets into a bar brawl. Come to think of it LEE MURRAY!!! They're making a movie on that. Now that's a story...

How can this list be made without Ricco Rodriguez? He takes the cake easily. Guy was considered the future of the sport and at 14-1 was considered practically an unstoppable champion. He chose to stand with Tim Sylvia in order to make it a fight and he payed the price. He gets robbed in his next fight against Big Nog and never looks the same. Drugs took Ricco from the top to the bottom in record time.

This would be like Cain losing to JDS and then coming crashing down and bouncing around on small cards trading wins and losses.
