My friend, that is what Toronto was told as well (keep in mind we just got sanctioned this year as well).

Dana even went on record to say that the Toronto card will be as big as UFC 100.

I will give him the benefit that this will be the case once the card is announced, but with the fights being mentioned, it really isn't close.

Not all his fault though, a lot of injuries and situations seems to have popped up.

Here is just one interview:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_02lv5JWtI

he claims:

-Toronto is the number 1 venue
-When he goes to his deathbed, this card will be one he will remember
-Every fighter will want to be on this card

So far, based on the rumoured card do you think this card is that big?

no offense to canadians but new york is a much bigger deal to him then just toronto, he already had vancouver and montreal before that anyways, i must say wtf is wrong with these people saying that mma is brutal and barbaric and shouldn't be allowed, you having boxing that has made over 100 retards from that sport from the shots taken, mayweather, toney, tyson, ali, frazier, mundine, green are just some of the retarded speaking boxers we have now, also i watched a documentary about the first death in boxing and it was in a title fight in cuba and the winner just teed off on the other guy to he went to the floor and died. yet new york promotes it, pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

Not sure about that, Toronto has been labelled the "Mecca of MMA" by Dana himself, as opposed to New York or anywhere else. In terms of PPV buys, merchandise etc Toronto outsells every other market, including NYC.

Saying that Montreal and Vancouver has had it before anyways is like saying Boston and Los Angeles have had it before anyways, so why would New York matter.

I get what you’re saying though in terms of impact for American fans. NYC would be a big deal for that state, and MSG is a feather in anyone's cap. But I guarantee you that Toronto would clobber New York in total ticket sales, without question if they had identical cards.

I don't think Dana would think of going to a venue the size of Rogers Center with a UFC card in NYC. I mean even with the card I have listed so far, the Rogers Center will still easily sell the 40 thousand tickets Dana wants to sell. He could sell about 70 thousand seats in the Rogers Center if he wanted to (it's a baseball stadium, not a basketball/hockey arena)

MMA is that popular here.

I agree with you terms of the boxing thing.
