I would say Shogun's a little stronger than Silva on the ground, but not so much to impose his will and make an easy pass. Power in striking/skill in clinch - tie. Speed on his feat, movement and hand speed - Silva is way ahead.

Also I think GSP would edge every MW with the exception of Silva and perhaps Vitor (TBD?), I think Vitor's could be in his prime, like much better than what he showed against Martin.. I can't get past the sheer power and superiority he displayed against Ace and Lawler. Vitor is a guy that can shoot up or drop way down on my rankings win or loss to Silva.

A Silva, Shields and Okami actually improved IMO when they fought at 185, I see GSP doing the same.

@ MW GSP would be much faster than the fighters, he'd throw as much power as an Okami, but faster, still have reach advantage over most, even more superior cardio, better wrestling, more slick and stronger on the ground, maybe he might even have gas and comfort to let his hands loose in the stand-up department (as long as he doesn't see the other opponents striking as a threat) --- enough to beat the rest of MW his typical 5-round fashion.

i think shogun has better leg kicks though and can expose quickness as seen vs machida twice, as gsp i dont think he could get past sonnens wrestling skills and i think he would have trouble with silva, maia and lombard and jacare(last 2 i know aren't in the ufc)i like gsp a lot so i am not bashing him here

Anderson-Rua would definitely be awesome. I would throw Mousasi in the mix as well to see how he does. He arguably has one of the best stand up game in LHW. Daley-Alves was the fight i really wanted to see as well. Speaking of, who would you pick, Paul or Thiago?

Yes... this is the match-up I'd very much love to see!

I could imagine WWIII on stand-up with Anderson and his superb striking and Rua with his lethal kicks. The clinch work would be brutal Muay Thai.... ohh it makes me shiver

On the subject of GSP vs. Silva.... (this coming from a BIG GSP fan and fellow Canadian)

He doesn't stand much of a chance. I agree to whomever said each holds a strength to the others weakness. Silva is just to big and strong for GSP. He's a very big MW and GSP is a smaller WW.

We know GSP doesn't like to get hit (Serra gave him a nice crack). Silva's striking is just soo damned brutal and accurate.

I personally don't think GSP wants to fight Silva right now unless he could majorly bulk up.

Didn't Mousasi just beat the K-1 HW Champion? He's no joke, his striking is sick. I wouldn't put it past him to beat Anderson or Shogun if they all stick to fighting on the feet.

Yes, he beat Kyotaro in the new year's eve dream card under K-1 rules.

GSP vs Silva is a shitty match-up
