It's been a great year for the UFC. It won't be too long before the # 1 & 2 spots will belong to the UFC!

7/10 go to the UFC, very cool. I'm so surprised at the numbers that Rashad/Rampage got ... yes there was hype and bad-blood due to the TUF season they coached, but the fight was postponed, Rampage hadn't fought in over a year so we knew he wouldn't be himself, and we knew that Rashad would wrestle for 15mins due to him getting KOd by Lyoto and then showing his gameplan in the T.Silva fight. Meh maybe I was the only one who was kinda over it by the time they fought ...

It's kind of sad that the best selling fights are the ones with Brock and Rampage on it. I wish casual fans were as knowledgable as us and recognized, say, the greatness of a JBJ-Bader matchup for instance.

Yeah mma fans want to do cartwheels over these lists but I dont really think the sport is in as good as shape as zuffa would have you believe.First of all the ufc are privately owned so they can conjure up what ever figures they plz & we'd be non the wiser.
Secondly look at the names of the highest grossers, brock who brings in WWf crowd but for how long? he has no heart and is only in it because he couldnt hack it at anything else..Rampage is another one thats only in it for the pay cheque and doesnt have long left..And then there is gsp tainting the sport and bringin in the wrong crowd with his safety first homo erotic approach..The fact that casuals arent down with anderson is a worrying indication..

Actually, private companies like ZUFFA have to open their books up to people whenever they need loans. And basically all companies need loans. Mark Cuban became a ZUFFA bondholder awhile ago, likely just so he could have access to their finances.
After looking over ZUFFA's books, S&P recently upgraded ZUFFA's credit rating from BB- to BB. That's heading in the right direction.
Also, these PPV numbers come from reporters asking the PPV providers about the event buys, not the UFC.

I can't believe people paid to Anderson Silva vs Maia/Thales Leites. See what I did there? There have been numerous fights in the UFC where the skill level is not the same, yet people still want to watch it.

WWE PPV Buyrates Revealed, WrestleMania Disappoints
Quote:
As part of its Q1 2010 announcement, in which WWE achieved operating income of $37.3 million and net income of $24.7 million off revenue of $138.7 million, WWE revealed pay-per-view buyrates for Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 26.
While the Rumble and Chamber events improved over their counterparts last year, WrestleMania 26 declined from last year’s already-disappointing number. According to WWE, the show generated 885,000 buys, down from last year’s 960,000 (note that WrestleMania 25 took place in the second quarter of 2009).
The strong UFC 111 pay-per-view, which aired the night before ‘Mania, will likely receive some credit for adversely impacting the WM26 buyrate.
Royal Rumble, meanwhile, posted a figure of 462,000, up from last year’s 450,000. Elimination Chamber topped 272,000 for No Way Out with 285,000.
In another interesting note, despite WWE’s price increase to $44.95, and the increase in buys for Rumble and Chamber, revenue was slightly down compared to last year. The January and February shows garnered $13.6 million in 2009 and $13.4 million in 2010. This can be attributed to a relative increase in international buys, for which WWE does not receive as much revenue.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are the type of fighters that you wanna watch even if you know they are gonna win cos its still damn impressive though.
I love the UFC but would loved to have seen the Khan/Maidana fight on there - that fight was INSANE!
