... Edgar, GSP, Silva, Shogun, Cain... I count 2/5 UFC champions that are brazilian... neither is known for his wrestling. Or am I missing something?

Rubbish. Pure rubbish.

I say, simply watch this preview:

http://www.ufc.com/media/126-LONG-PREVIEW

There are various highlights from both fighters.

In Andersons clips we have, Flying knees, switch kicks, GnP, trips, submissions... a whole plethora of awesomeness.

In each and every one of Belforts clips ( mostly very old ) we have the same double fisted flurry that always either finishes a fight, or gasses him out.

I ask you, after watching the vid, who is "better in all aspects" ?

Why do the trainers always say such delusional shit before a fight? Do they think it inspires their fighters? Makes the camp sound like a bunch of idiots if you ask me.

The preparation is excellent. I train hard for some time with Randy Couture. I’m ready to burst. I train full time every day, have a coach for attacks, another to set the game plan, other exclusive for jiu-jitsu and two for karate. It’s a job on which you have to be focused. (Anderson's) a complete fighter, a champion, a fighter that has all the necessary abilities for a champion but he is a human being. I define him as a champion. His life wasn’t easy at all but today MMA provides him a very good life. It’s a huge pleasure to fight with an athlete so valuable like him. I respect him a lot. My strategy is to fight. I’m a complete fighter who looks for the knockout standing and the submission on the floor. We follow whichever pathway the bout will take."

s0...what then? You expect a trainer or training partner to say " we tried our best but vitor sucks at wrestling, his bjj is not at Silva's level and honestly I think his only chance is a lucky punch?"

True or not that would be the worst trainer on earth.

Personally I don't believe that's true. Vitor will pull Anderson down from his pedestal and expose him as a mere human.

And the internet will explode with threads and blogs of experts explaining why A) Silva sucks or B) vitor is the greatest ever.

Randy said
"Chael Sonnen has laid the blue brint on how to beat Anderson Silva."
And Randy wants Belfort to mirror this strategy.

This reminds me of Kenny Florian- BJ Penn.

After Georges St. Pierre had soundly beat BJ, by wearing him out against the cage, they wanted to Kenny to do the same thing: it failed big time.

They forgot that Kenny is no GSP and in the same sense Belfort is no Chael Sonnen.

Silva by 4th round TKO.

Fun trivia: In danish "kamp" means "match" or "fight". So Martin Kampmann really lives up to his name.

he said it was more about pressure and that chael gave him no respect.

No. I would rather they hype up their man with a bit more intelligence. Something along the lines of...

"Yes, Anderson has all the tools in the world. He is superb. But, Sonnen exposed him. If you are better than Silva at one thing, you can expose him. I know my man Belfort has hands that will expose him. You will see fight night."

That would be far less lol-worthy and more hype inducing than his brainless dribble.

I'm not questioning Beforts ability to win right now. I'm questioning his trainer saying Befort is better in every aspect. Theres hype... and theres plain obvious bullshit.

Sonnens hype was excellent. He didnt attempt to discredit Silva. He said time and time again that he expects to go to hospital after the fight. But he also said, hes going to stick his head in his chest and take him down and beat on him... which he did. Thats how its done.

^^ Exactly.

Belfort can win by doing the same thing differently.

Chael hit Silva. A lot. Because he was more concerened with take downs.

Vitor will take him down for the same reason. His GnP is a lot harder than chaels.

Silva needs a minute or two to find his rhythm and his opponents. If he's not careful he'll be rocked, on his back and getting pounded before then.

Pressure and no respect.
