WWE Chairman Vince McMahon Met with UFC

Quote:
On January 12th, the same time the UFC held a press conference at Madison Square Garden in order to promote legalizing MMA in New York, UFC President Dana White met with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in New York City, New York to discuss Brock Lesnar's potential involvement at WWE WrestleMania XXVII.

According to the Pro Wrestling Torch, White remained adamant towards McMahon that Lesnar will not be involved with the WWE's biggest event of the year.

A vast majority within the WWE are to believe that Lesnar would not have or will not appear at WrestleMania.

“I don’t think he (McMahon) thought it was as hard as it turned out to be,” said one source within the WWE.

The meeting between the two big-time promoters was not their first. In a June 2008 interview, White stated he had recently has breakfast with McMahon in recent weeks. Over time, White has remained respectful of McMahon in interviews.

WrestleMania XXVII takes place on April 3rd at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. At that time, Lesnar will be training for his scheduled June fight against Junior Dos Santos.

People that say Lesnar will be in the WWE are lost. he left the WWE because it wasn't real, he wants to compete with the best in the world. Although I can see Lesnar leaving the UFC if he loses his next fight ( i believe it's the last fight on his current contract?), I doubt he'd go back to pro-wrestling...

I think it's just the people who hate Brock who want to see him fail and go back to wrestling. As I don't see it ever happening.

Both of them are on good terms right? Vince McMahon is a freakin' monster in the market and Dana White has said it numerous times.

It just seems pointless that the UFC would deny Brock the chance to make an appearance at Wrestle Mania, and even more pointless due to the fact that the UFC could twist this somehow to get some kind of promotion benefit from having Brock make the appearance, I mean wtf why not makes no sense.

Almost makes me think that they are writing it into the WWE plot somehow for Brock to make some kind of surprise appearance at WM and that its all been somehow agreed but been covered and and kept quite for the sake of story thats going to unfold at WM.

Or maybe Dana wants to try and build MMA as a sport and not a cheap marketing gimmick

Well her is doing a pretty piss poor job if that is his goal, they should just fire his ass on the sport right now if that's his goal.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Though they probably wouldn't be able to keep it a secret till WM.
But besides Dana being against it because of image concerns theres the issue of timing. Isn't WM in April and the JDS fight in June? It does leave enough time to train but I would think the WWE would want Brock for a good match not just a apperance or quick match. And he runs the risk of injury if he does that. And thats a big reason why Dana is against fighters being in other stuff.
