That and at the time 155 didn't really exist so no one fought there pretty much.
Exactly Rofl.

I actually think Kenny is more of a natural 145ler, he is small in comparison to a lot of the LWs and whilst he is skinny, he isn't overly ripped (i.e. he still has body fat % to strip before becoming unhealthy).

Agree though, he definately needs to get some weights into his routine, preferably Olympic lifting and a lot of plyos.

He is not a natural 145 pounder by any means.

Put it this way, with the size o some of the UFC LWs at the moment, Kenny has <0 chance of getting a title. He would be manhandled by quite a few of them.

The division is stacked, if he can make it down, it would be better for him, and the UFC and the fans. Throw a spanner in the works of the FW division for most of the 'top' guys down there.

I have seen many boxers cut a lot more than Florian, he doesn't look anything like a 154ler, which would make him a Jr Middle. He is very slight framed and should either jack up on explosive lifting or cut where he isn't at such a strength disadvantage. Just MO of course.

Kenny would be way to drained. he is already skeletor at the weigh-ins.

155 <----> 145 - is by far the smallest percentage weight gain or loss between any two MMA weight classes.

Still too much for kenny to be effective at 145

ehh...anemic true.., but he's got nothing to offer UFC LW anymore, can't even contend with a contender. In Florian's case, I think WW would be the better option especially at 34 years old, 74" reach, added strength and relative speed would do him better.

Though, by contrast...

155 <----> 170 lbs is the biggest % weight gain/loss (outside of 205 to 265). Guys that make that weight gain/cut to LW - WW go through a serious change in size (That's the kind of the thing that makes Penn a warrior despite his record, two division belt holder)

Also on the average, I would say strikers have a better relative advantage when they move up in weight. Wrestlers have a better relative advantage when they move down.

Kenny can still beat a lot of the guys at W just not the top 2 or 3
