I honestly don't know much about Banuelos.
Seems to be a decent fighter - win and loss against Jorgensen, who just fought for the title. Wreslting and boxing skills.

My guess: he will want to box with Torres and set up his TDs and wrestle his way to a decision?! But he might catch some knees from Torres in the process.

Even if it goes to the ground i see Torres using his excellent BJJ; so i think he will get the submission victory.

I don't see Banuelos taking this fight. They are in different leagues in my opinion. I mean lets break it down.

Miguel Torres

-38-3 with 23 Submissions, 9 (T)KO's and 6 Decisions

-The most dominant Bantamweight in WEC history

-Best wins: Charlie Valencia, Takeya Mizugaki, Manny Tapia, Chase Beebe, Yoshiro Maeda

-Losses: Dominick Cruz, Brian Bowles, Ryan Ackerman

-17 Fight Win Streak before losing to Bowles and Cruz.

-20 wins before 1st loss of career.

Antonio Banuelos

-18-6 with 1 Submission, 7 (T)KO's and 10 Decisions

-Best wins wins: Scott Jorgensen, Chad George, Kenji Osawa

-Losses: Stephen Palling, Jeff Bedard, Eddie Wineland, Charlie Valencia, Manny Tapia, Scott Jorgensen

-Best win streak: 10 Fights

Just looking at that should be enough. Other than one win by the skin of his teeth over Jorgensen, Banuelos has lost to every good fighter he has faced, including another fight against Jorgensen.

I would be very surprised if he beat Torres. At 30 years old, Torres is still very much a top 5 bantamweight.

Crowds booing like that is really ******* annoying. Was not a great round by any means, but it was not that bad. I quite enjoy watching these technical, patient battles, just so long as there's some substance at some point. Been impressed by Torres' use of the jab and as soon as Banuelos starts to move in I see Miguel opening up much more. Hopefully we'll have an exciting 2nd round to shut the crowd up.

Enjoyed that 2nd round a lot. Miguel is lighting Banuelos up with the jab, and then following up with the right hand. Not been Torres' most exciting performance, but I'm enjoying it. He's putting on a very good clinic of how to make the most of a reach advantage. Good fight AFAIC.

Not a lot he could do really, especially in the 3rd where Banuelos was effectively just running around for 4 and a half minutes. Torres isn't going to rush in on a guy with power like Banuelos. He fought smart, and when the opportunities were there to land shots he did, was Banuelos that didn't engage and made it the boring fight.
