I'll give Jones his credit, he's got skill. Not sure if he's ready for Shogun though, the striking he showed tonight isn't much to inspire confidence.

Jones is impressive and turning into a real force but... Low hands, chin stuck out, skinny front leg stuck out, rushing in head up in the air... I think now is the perfect time and Shogun is the perfect opponent, and Bones is going to get knocked down a peg or two. He is so young and will of course come back even more dominant.

Not that he has no chance, but for me there is too big a gap in experience and certain skills. Plus Shogun having fought even bigger blokes in the past and won, the size difference is not a factor.

Hopefully it's still on 19th March though?

Shogun has better muay thai, but he won't attack like he did against Machida, because Jones will take him down.
And now, Shogun knows, MORE THAN EVER, that Jones is FOR REAL!

I hope there will be no medical suspenssions for Jones after this fight.

Fingers crossed!
Thats the one part of this post that aint true, sorry Limb. Shogun is a beserker man. Striker, wrestler? Shogun simply doesnt care. Hes ALWAYS aggressive and always fighting.

He wont care about Jones taking him down because he's a wizard from his back.

I, am so excited for this fight, words cant even describe. Its impossible for me to pick a winner.

i dont like it only because 128 is such a short turn around for jones to go in a title fight against someone like rua, i would like page vs shogun II first then thiago silva jones and if he wins gets the next shot.

I've always believed in Jones and I FIRMLY believe he has both the potential and the skills now to be LHW champion. What he doesn't have is the experience and I really, really would rather he was tested against a top 5 LHW or a legitimate veteran before his fight with Shogun. Rampage could be a great fight, Forrest would be good as well as he's very well rounded. Thiago and Machida would both be great tests of his abilities as well. I'd just like to see him actually challenged and made to go through SOME adversity before he gets a title shot... I'm not sure that any of those men could do it (I'd hedge my bets on Thiago out of all of them giving him a good fight because of the style), but I'd like to see it before he goes toe-to-toe with one of, if not THE, best LHWs on the planet. Jones has totally walked through everyone the UFC put in front of him and that sort of scares me. I didn't figure for Bader to challenge him at alll but I kinda wish he had...

I agree with you. A month to train for the belt is rather short for Jones but hey, an opportunity is an opportunity. I also wanted to see Rampage and Shogun 2 and I wanted Jones to fight Machida as well.
