Who do you prefer him to fight with?
We have the long awaited superfight with GSP, but that seems less likely, as GSP would have to gain weight and move to MW. And many people feel like Silva would win easily agaisnt a smaller opponent with a clear gameplan of taking him down and keeping Silva there.
Fight with Shogun or JBJ. As they're fighting each other for the title, he could fight the winner or the loser, but it seems a title shot should be granted to Silva. He has more than cleared 185lbs and has alread 2 wins al 205. I'd pick this one.
Okami, for another easy MW title fight. I think that will give us another fight like the Cote, Leites and Maia fights. Silva would probably consider it an easy fight, not a challenge, except perhaps for his previous "defeat" to Okami.

I'd rather he just fight Okami in three months I don't want to wait 7 months to see him fight again and Okami has earned a title shot twice already and still hasn't gotten it. There is no reason GSP/Silva can't happen another 3 months after that fight.

I voted Okami. I know Dana said GSP vs Silva was happening if GSP beats Sheilds but I don't think it's gonna happen. It would be a dumb move for GSP. He is way too small to fight Anderson and I'm sure there are still some interesting match-ups the UFC can find him at WW. I think George finds a reason to not take a fight with Anderson. So that leaves the Okami/silva fight, pretty easy fight for Anderson in my opinion.
If George really wants to move to MW he should test the waters with Leben or Bisping or something. If he can handle the gatekeepers at MW than go for it.

Okami, I think he really deserves that title shot. I read on Sherdog but hell I wouldnt post there, too crazy and some of the posters there are just complete :confused02: . They dont know what they are talking about most of the time. Some of them are like Okami doesent deserve the title shot because he is so boring and that he a 3 fight win streak isint enough, look at Jon Fitch. Ok first of all just because he is "boring" doesent mean that he doesent deserve a title shot. He deserves it because he wins fights, he hasent gotten a title shot yet since he was in line ages ago. I mean if you come back from injury and you were promised a title shot, you still get that shot right? Well it worked for Vitor but someone like Okami they are like "nope just fight a couple of more times" which he racked up 2 losses and got sent all the way to the bottom both times.

The guy had a long road to go without a title shot. And now he might get snubbed again. The issue with Fitch is that, he already had his title shot and a GSP vs Fitch 2 isint exactly what people are clamouring about because we have already seen it. At least Okami is a "new" challenger for Silva. And since Okami is the most successful Japanese fighter outside of Japan, you can really market this fight to the Japanese people. I know people have this conspiracy theory that Dana White doesent like Japanese Fighters and he only brings them over to get demolished to prove a point. I think thats far fetched but Okami being constantly thrown to the side even though he is the only successful one doesent not squash this theory. Just because he cant sell, doesent mean he doesent deserve it. For example, Brock Lesnar, people dont think he deserves being in a #1 contender fight so early coming off a loss. But he sells and that's why he is there if even undeserving.

Just let the Okami fight happen, it gives more time off to GSP if he gets past Shields, you will fill your commitment to Okami, Anderson properly cleans out his division, super fight happens with both guys at 100% and physically and mentally ready. Its the only logical steps to take. I just think the UFC is scared if Okami destroys the hopes of GSP vs Silva because he manages to win before GSP is ready to go, thats why they are just going to let Silva sit and tell Okami to screw off.

GSP regardless if he loses to Shields, should still sell the superfight of GSP vs Silva and go up to 185. That way you will have a proper successor to 170 in Shields. Say if GSP wins and has 2 titles, you know how difficult that would be for GSP? He would have both WW and MW fighters going after him. GSP if he moves up wants to stay at 185 so I dont think he would alternate, he would have to give up the WW title. But think about it, would a dominate double champion be bad for the league? I mean if say GSP wins the MW title and keeps the WW title, and he dominates the WW and MW division, that would solidify as him being the best ever. But would having a dominant champion put a stranglehold on 2 divisions now instead of 1? GSP fights would double. But now you got 2 divisions in a dead lock if he starts clearing them out, what do the other MW fighters do? Move up to 205 for more competition and a title shot after GSP destroys them twice? Same thing with WW, do they move to 155? Just saying its a messed up situation to think about.

Def. GSP. It has to happen. Think about it...these guys had to defend their belts HOW MANY TIMES to get this opportunity. The stars are aligned. GSP now has to pass his test then move onto the peak where there can ONLY BE ONE.

Shogun could defeat Anderson as he has a very sturdy chin, long range, and will not fear getting hit. He will put the pressure that plus takedowns are Anderson Silva's weakness.

In the perfect world Anderson defends aginst Okami and GSP at the MW then moves up to LHW and retires as the ONLY UNDEFEATED UFC fighter in history. Most likely the only one in our generation. This isn't basketball or football folks. You have to be on your A game at all times, cuz one minor mistake doesn't just mean the fight is over it could mean your entire career. I did an article on meteoric rise and falls of various fighters and it's amazing how many talented fighters are on the ropes including Machida. To be able to perform at that level consistently day in and day out over the course of several years really says something about these fighters.

To me okami would be a waste of a fight like the maia, etc. Okami is no chael, hell chael out wrestle him badly, he lost to rich franklin. Plus since he fought silva in 06, silve has improve by leaps and bounds. I rather see silva fgith the winner of gsp/sheilds. Sheilds is a legit mw contender if he beats gsp.
