Dana White: UFC will probably start doing 5 round main event non-title fights
Interesting! I think it would be a great thing, in a No. 1 Contender's fight! because winner of that would eventually have to be ready for a five rounder! But, i son't know about the other fights! Even if their on the main card! You can judge it either way: Imagine 2 more rounds of in the Torres - Banuelos fight! That fight wasn't entertaining at all. At least for me! On the other hand - Franklin vs Wanderlei, 2 more rounds!!! Heavenly! I think if the UFC were to make that happen, they would have to be more careful on who they choose to fight on their main cards! In the end - i like the idea! |
Lets not get ahead of ourselves surly the commission would have to approve this and didn't they already turn SF down with a similar proposal within there GP.

Thank God!!!!
I have been saying this for years. |

AND ITS ABOUT TIME DANA! I remember there was a ton of debate and talk all around MMA so they passed this but Dana came out and said they wouldn't use it, Im so glad they are going to do so now. This changes the game for fighters like Nate Diaz who are much more difficult to beat in a five round fight vs a three round fight. |

awesome! i remember this discussion on inside MMA and bas said he wanted to see this, i think it would be great, imagine machida vs rampage if it had 2 more rounds
so many fights...i think the number 1 contender should fight five rounds, its a lot harder to win a 5 round war than a 3 round war so this would make the number 1 contender more definitive than a close 3 round fight IMO |
