tim sylvia is definitely underrated as a fighter. but as a fan favorite, he's right were he should be. he's earned everyone's disliking. he used steriods and cant finish a fight anymore, so why should people like him? i think he is a great fighter, but he doesnt endear himself to fans the way others do. the ufc hasnt helped matters by giving randy a shot at him.

Think the idea was to try and find someone good for him to fight. A champion is only as good as the people he beats and Randy is the best they could find.

Lmao, it funny how shit changes. I made this type of thread like two months ago and I had a 30 page argument with people about this.

Support Mixed Martial Arts, not Ultimate Fighting

Yep, you don't get any extra points for winning with style.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Sylvia became to cautious and it is showing. If you watched that last round in the Monson fight you would see what I am talking about. It was obvious that Monson had given up mentally considering he stopped being the aggressor. Instead of applying pressure Tim just waited until the clock ran out

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

i agree that monson gave up and that tim just sorta went with the flow towards the end, but big tim still showed me something in that fight: he's pretty good on the ground.

for being 6'8" and 260, tim can do some pretty quality things on the ground. to beat him you're gonna have to pound him out. monson's bjj and wrestling was completely nuetralized by sylvia.

now all he needs to do is find that killer instinct again and maybe people will start to respect him as a fighter.

ppl (and me) hate him cause he uses his natural height and reach to win matches. Thats why he jabs his way to victory cause he knows no one can reach him. The reasons he wins cause of his reach and thats it. I hope he gets killed by crocop.
