I just want to say, for the record, that this is the second most ignorant piece of trash that I've ever seen on this forum. The first is the "Is Fedor Impressive?" thread.
Tanner was a savage earlier in his career and was definitely a top-ten middleweight in his prime (probably around 6, 7 or 8).

Evan Tanner has shown more heart, guts & grit than almost any fighter I've ever seen. You could be hitting this guy in the face with a baseball bat and he would still keep coming.
That's what I'm talking about when I refer to the so called "fans" who only look at a win/loss column. They just don't get it.

He invited me to watch a ufc ppv at his house. Makes him ok in my book, and gets him in my avatar as well.

Actually now that people have seen Richie Rich get completely taken apart by Silva they've come to realize that the only reason he was able to hold the title for as long as he did was because of the b-level talent in the UFC at the time. So I tend to agree with you. He isn't really overrated by most anymore.

Nope, Silva did not retire but Rich will get his title back whether it's from Silva or some other fighter does not matter in the end Rich will prove a lot of you ney sayers wrong, those who jump on and off bandwagons so often that you have splinters in their asses.

Nah I don't think Rich is that bad. He is overrated yea, but that's the UFC's style, PRIDE and K-1 hype their fighters up a helluva lot more than UFC does, only because the sport is so much bigger over in Japan than it is here. How often do you see Rich Franklin doing a commercial for Pepsi or something? Fighters in Japan are constantly in the main stream media being hyped up all the time. Even Bob Sapp.
But after watching Franklin's fight with Silva, and then Silva's fight with Lutter, I honestly believe Rich still stands a great chance at beating Silva. If he stays out of the clinch, he can prolly stand and trade for a round or two without getting KOed, he may not win the standup war but he can hold his own as long as he stays out of the clinch. And if he happens to get Silva down, Rich is just so much bigger and physically stronger than Silva, I can see him being able to get some really good GnP in. We never really get to see Franklin's JJ, so it's hard for me to say whether or not he could last very long in Silva's guard. As long as he stays out of the clinch, the next time they fight could very well go to a decision. Would he win? I dunno, but he has a very good chance. Better than most people give him credit for.
