Karlos Vemola Out of UFC 128, Search Underway for New Opponent for Luiz Cane

Quote:
Just hours after the news that UFC 128 would feature prelim fights on Spike TV, one of the fighters has been forced to withdraw from the card. Karlos Vemola who was scheduled to take on Luiz Cane on the prelim show is out of his scheduled fight with an undisclosed injury.

All indications are that Cane will remain on the card and receive a new opponent, although no one has been named at this time.

MMAWeekly.com confirmed Vemola’s exit from the card with sources close to the fight. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the change.

Vemola was coming into UFC 128 after stomping Seth Petruzelli in his last fight, which marked his debut at light heavyweight in the Octagon. Potentially a very dangerous prospect at 205lbs, Vemola will have to wait now to climb another rung up the light heavyweight ladder.

MMAWeekly.com will have more information on Cane’s new opponent when it becomes available

So many injuries lately. I was looking forward to seeing Vemola at 205lbs again.

I reckon Maldonado or Kingsbury get the fight but would be a good one for Bader to step up to if he wants to get back to winning ways quickly.

He was going to slam-smash-repeat on Cane..... I could already see it

Anyone who thought Thiago Silva looked impressively strong against Vera, oh man, this fight would have be RIDIC.

Oh well, hope he comes back soon!
