i dont get the comparison at all. Bruce was much deeper than just not staring into an opponents eyes. He had a philosphy on how to live your entire life, not just win a fight or get into another fighters head.

Not saying their alike lol. I'm saying.. let me gather my thoughts and be clear so there isn't a mis-understanding...

I'm not saying that Jon Jones will do things the same way as Bruce, but I think people will hold Jon Jones in the same regard as Bruce Lee when all is said and done.

And like I said, I could be completely wrong. But how he approaches the fight game is truly unique considering at such a young age he seems to have the mental aspect down completely.

I think some of you need to slow down. Jon jones seems to have potential, but has not really done much. So maybe we should wait before we start getting on our knees and worshipping him.

I think destroying Bader should count for a lot. Beating Bader the way he did is legit enough for me.

I am not trying to take anything from jon jones but i think bader was already beat before he stepped into the ring. I wont be convinced until Jon Jones fights a top 10 ranked fighter, which is happening very soon.

He said on a mental level, and I tend to agree. I don't think you could find another fighter on the planet as cerebral as Jones.

Umm, Jones is more accomplished than Bruce lee and therefore has more credibility. In fact the majority of modern day MMA fighters are more accomplished than Bruce Lee. Lets not forget we're talking about actual fighters as opposed to an actor/martial arts philosopher who was never actually tested in real hand to hand combat.

That being said i'm very eager to see how Jones does with the top 5 LHW's. I'm pretty sure he can hang just not sure where exactly he falls into.

you do realize Jeet Kune Do is studied by many MMA fighters the world over?? Or that Bruce Lee basically came up the idea of cross training several martial arts and using anything available and wanting to see this tested. He basically is the GodFather of MMA. You say cuz a guy has a couple pro fights in his resume he has more credibility then Bruce F'ing Lee?? you need to do some homework on him cuz you spewing nonsense about movies etc and dont even have an inkling what the man was about.

Watch his interview videos, read what he's saying or just listen to him. The way he breaks down fighters, their styles, his game planning, his training philosophies, all of it. I don't know of another fighter who eats, sleeps and breathes MMA the way he does. He approaches MMA the same way Bruce approached JKD. He lives it, breathes it and immerses himself in it completely, unlike any other fighter today.

When Jon Jones dismantles Shogun what are the doubters gonna say then?

By looking at Jones physique, technical skills and the way he has beaten everybody, isn't it obvious that he is among not just the best light heavyweight in the world but best fighters in the world, period?

Thats my deduction based on all available data right now anyway.

Maybie it's wrong, but I don't think it is. I think Jones is gonna beat Shogun and make it look easy! But alot of people are still gonna doubt him by coming up with some random excuse as to why Shogun was not 100% at fight night or was overrated or whatever they can think of to justify some stupid idea that they've become emotionally attached to.

It's just... I don't get the doubters. I don't see their point of view at all. I can't understand how anyone can doubt this kid right now. I'm not emotionally attached to Jon Jones yet, so all this is just based on observation. Perhaps that is not the case for everyone.

EDIT: 666th post!! HELL YEAH!
