he seems to be a "gatekeeper" type fighter. most guys that he beats just keep losing, and most guys that beat him go on to better things

You can call him a gatekeeper (thats what he is), but he is definitely more than that. Many ppl consider him a "legend" because of his durability and grit. He makes Jeremy Horn looks like and average joe.

I was thinking he must have damn good cardio and durability to be fighting that much(sometimes 2-4 times a night). Makes a guy wonder if he got the right camp, would he be able to achieve more success?

I think he could be a beast with the right training. I think I remember reading something a long time ago about his desire to 'just fight' and not caring about any of the BS that comes with it. He lost 41 times, thats alot of losses to just continue doing something you dont have some sort of intrinsic love for. You know what I mean?

He has fought and lost to alot of the top fighters and the only fighter he has beaten that i know of is heath herring and drew with jeremy horn. I would still class him as a very good fighter though with massive balls.

LHW: Ortiz, Shogun, Rampage and Alexander

He did fight at UFC 20 and had a decent showing in his fight with Petey Williams before he lost to an arm bar.
