BJ looked great, I'm sure the 3rd round is extremely dissapointing for him, but for 2 rounds he put the #2 WW in the world in some seriously dangerous situations and took the fight to him.

BJ has nothing to prove imo, he's a 155'er that's top 5 (at least) in both LW and WW divisions. No other fighter can say that. When Liddell, Hughes, Ortiz Couture were on the top of the world in MMA, so was Penn. Difference is Penn is still here and testing himself as much as he possibly can.

Whether he fights tomorrow, or we never see him in the octagon again, he'll forever be my favourite fighter.

I was thinking what if Edgar, Maynard, or even Clay Guida fought Fitch. Could they have won or even have a chance.

That made me realize BJ belongs on the top 3 P4P list of all time. He went way beyond his element and actually was close to winning. I really thought he was going to get the RNC. That's what I predicted. Wonder what's happening next...

BJ had a few surprise takedowns that surprised Fitch. He then went for his (predictable) RNC. Once Fitch got in stride, he pounded BJ into another world. The fight wouldn't have lasted another 30 seconds. You could see BJ's will cracked like a dry stick.

1. I feel for Fitch - he went for it, just too late in the fight.

2. Where is BJ's world-class BJJ??? He only goes for the RNC - only works with a damaged opponent.

3. I hope they rematch soon, but I suspect BJ will find another option.
